This did not happen in Malaysia : Judicial posts for sale...

For today, let's not talk about Malaysia. Why not, for today, we recounted that however bad and bleak the situation facing us, there are others who may fare worse than us. Since some of us have weak hearts and border blood pressure problems...forget about Perak politics. Better still, turn off the radio, TV, spurn the newspapers and disconnect the internet. Best of all, go up the mountains and meditate. Gua Tempurung seems a nice place to start...

Let's take a breather from the "never ending saga" of Perak politics. It seems that it has come to a stalemate. The gears are all jammed and there is no easy way out for Perak political impasse. I have given my piece in "1 Perak : LKS offers, Najib says, Anwar pitches...hope" but it is clear now that Zambry is going to the Appealate court for stay of execution and getting it. So, whatever hopes envisaged by Uncle Lim, Najib and Anwar is fading away because Zambry is not buying and Nizar is not surrendering hopes.

Fellow blogger, Nobisha, posted his take in Astro Awani last night. I did not see it so I rely fully on his blog. Yusmadi, an PKR MP, calls for Majlis Syura. In my posting dateline 7th may 2009, I wrote
"It has been pointed out that HRH should be calling both MB Nizar and MB Zambry together at the same time and whatever decisions made by HRH are read out for both of them to hear, obey and implement. The keyword is both, ie HRH's decision are to both of them. When that happens, then there is no longer the issues of misintepretations, misconceptions, misunderstandings and miscommunications."
Isn't that a form of Majlis Syura? You let the politicians run the show, the political impasse will never be resolved until the cows go home...This charade has to stop and it must be stop now ! Provide some space and breather for the political impasse to be amicably resolved.

And since this posting is to soothe and not to raise temperatures...Let's read what Voice of America (VOA) said about one of Asean's court system. Briefly, the article datelined 11th May 2009 claimed that, in that particular country, would be judges must be willing to pay proper officials USD 20 ~ 30K (RM 70 ~ 100 K) to be eligible for consideration for judges posts in the country. That, is only for posts in normal area. For more prestigous provincial seats, be prepared to cough up USD 70 ~ 150K (RM 250 ~ 500 K).

So, maybe our judges are not perfect but at least, we know that they did not pay or bribed themselves into the system, like that particular Asean colleague. As always, we can read what is said in VOA, but whether their claim is independently substantiated or not is another matter.

We may lament about our judiciary system but we can still lift our head high because our judges did not buy their posts like those of ....

Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...
