Come what may, May 2009 will be etched in Perak history forever. What happen next will be landmark history and benchmark for things to come. Rightly or wrongly, the unfolding events were the makings of human greed and failings when it comes to power. And before we addressed the 1 Perak question, let us retro to the unfolding events and then continue from there...
The Perak crisis is actually borne out by these two men, Jamaluddin Mat Radzi and Mohd Osman Jailu. March 2008 has launched them from virtual unknowns to Perak seat of power.
And as a Malay idiom said "Bagai kera mendapat bunga" or literally translated as "Like a monkey that get hold of a flower", both of them succumbed to their newfound power. What they did in Penang with imported "pleasure merchandise" whilst being coerced into returning the "favour" with some "housing project approval" were splashed in the newspapers. And what do you expect the answers from those who profess Islam as their religion? You expect them to admit their guilt with shame and profound apologies to those who has trusted them by giving them their wins in GE12. That's the least that were expected of them. Yet, they came out with silly statements equating their misdeeds as "sedekah".
Equating something with "sedekah" which is highly valued in Islam is something that is most unbecoming of them. It demonstrate their lack of knowledge and to equate their misdeeds to "sedekah" is gross injustice of the highest degree. You see, in Islam, as I know it, if both of them has committed the unforgivable sin and proven without doubt that they have done that, they will be stoned to death. But these 2 jokers can smiled and equate to "sedekah". Enough of that....
They were charged in court for bribery and dates for the hearing were set. All along, PR government has gone all out to support the 2 in denying the corruption charges. Along the way, PR has also taken punitive measures for the 2 and their co-accused.
Then, came the cruncher. Anwar Ibrahim, in his haste to take over from BN received a trojan horse in his midst. That trojan horse is his former college roomate cum state rep from Bota. Whilst rejoicing with his newfound toy, Najib has induced the 2 jokers of Behrang and Changkat Jering to Pekan for some "medical" therapy. And all this happen during the CNY celebration.
A week later, Bota return to BN's fold with Behrang and Changkat Jering reps announcing their defection from PR. Their announcement ceremony were graced by one Hee, the disgruntled Perak deputy speaker. And with this, Perak crisis was born...
What happen next is the most mind boggling of all! And this time it involved the Perak royalhouse. What happen in Istana Kinta will forever be scritinised by all and sundry. And the centre point of it all is the role of constitutional monarchy. Do HRH has the rights and power to appoint 2 MBs'? And did the first MB resign? If not, on what grounds do HRH acts? Let all this be answered in due time for history will record what happen in Istana Kinta in its own way and history can always wait...
The lawsuits and counter lawsuits that flies back and forth between the high courts and federal courts, between MB Nizar and MB Zambry is a records of sorts! Where else do you have 2 MBs' sitting at the same time if not Malaysia..a truly Malaysia boleh! And to me, the best person to resolve the issue is the person who started the confusion - and he is HRH Perak!.
HRH Perak should be calling both MB Nizar and Zambry together for an audience with HRH and lay down all their arguments for HRH. And for this to happen, HRH has to leave his own self interest outside the door! And since all three, HRH MB Nizar and MB Zambry, are all Muslims by practise they should be arguing based on Islamic principles and foundations. To me, to resolve the whole problem, these are the actions to be taken :-
1. Both MB Nizar and MB Zambry agree to suspend Behrang and Changkat Jering from the state assembly as both of them are still involved in court cases;
2. Better still, HRH in his capacity as the Islamic head of Perak, ordered Changkat Jering and Behrang to quit their posts;
3. Both MB Nizar and MB Zambry to agree that no future cross overs shall be entertained by both sides;
4. In the case of the laughing Hee, HRH to order Hee to make her mind whether to stay with DAP or resign from DAP to join another party;
5. HRH ordered to both MBs' to retract their suits from court and further get their agreement that no future suits regarding this issue will be lodged in courts;
6. To get both MB Nizar and MB Zambry to jointly choose an option, either to accept whatever decision of the state assembly or to dissolve the state DUN;
HRH still has the time to undo what he has done. Some may ask why I did not include Perak State Secretary and Legal Adviser in the meeting with HRH. The explanation is simple...both State Secretary and legal advisers are career officers whose paymaster is in Putrajaya. So, what can be expected from career officers who are not loyal to the state of Perak?
So now back to the title of whether 1 Perak exist...PM6 is his first speech as the PM of Malaysia has launched the slogan "1 Malaysia, People first, performance now". And since PM6 is MB Zambry's leader, shouldn't Zambry be following Najib? And if Zambry were to follow Najib..then shouldn't the priority be given to the people? Let the people decide who they want to lead Perak, whether PR or BN...
I am in the opinion that HRH is still the key to resolve the Perak crisis. Let HRH make his decision, free from threats and tricks. Maybe Perak crisis happened due to HRH's error and maybe not. But, for the benefit of all, HRH should call both MB Nizar and MB Zambry together and at the same time for audience with HRH. What transpire behind the close doors should be fair to all.
Some may ask, if HRH decided to call both MBs', will it not be too late? The answer is no. What both MBs' can first decide is to agree that the state legislature sitting under the tree is calid and that, in itself, will give 6 months breathing space for the parties to work out an amicable solution. You see, I doubt that BN is in good shape ion Perak. Tajol Rosli has declined the offer to be the replacement Perak speaker. That maybe a signal that veteran BN reps are not happy with the situation and maybe they have their own interpretation of the crisis.
Right now, Perak crisis has opened up new frontiers when PR has shown its potential to rule 5 states. And if we goes by PM6's call of freedom to media, MB Zambry should not be curbing the media to access the state assembly. It now seems that MB Zambry is going against PM6's slogan. If this is true, then it will be a sad day to Malaysia when BN's own MB go against his own master and leader...
What happens in Perak is quite similar to what is happening to Terengganu. The only difference is that, in Terengganu, the dissenting voice of more than 50 % of the ADUNs' come from within its own BN ranks...that, in itself, is a problem to PM6.
For Perak, the clock is ticking fast. Whatever solutions available to resolve the crisis is closing fast and will be shut down forever when 7th May 2009 comes.
Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...

The best gift that our HRH the Sultan of Perak could give to all his Royal subjects is to resolve or "bubarkan" the State Assembly and call for fresh elections. This would solve all the Rakyat's tension on 7th May 2009. Daulat Tuan Ku, Daulat Tuan Ku. Patik minta maaf.
Anon...
Ur wish is just one of the options available...
I would rather go for HRH to retain Nizar as the MB and let the state assembly decide...with both Changkay Jering and Behrang suspended until the outcome of their court case or for HRH to instruct both Behrang/Changkat Jering to vacant their seats...
