Everybody loves Sibu...especially 1MPM6 Najib

The players dread the possibility of being hugged by Mrs Najib! So, they took the safest course of action...lost to China and avoid the possibility.

Seriously, 16th May 2010 is another important date to watch in Malaysian history. Forget about Thomas cup. Sibu is ready to show Malaysians the way to the future.

Someone whispered to me his theory why Malaysia lost to China in Thomas cup 2010 semi-finals. I will leave it to the readers to decide whether his theory is plausible or not. He strongly believed that our Malaysian cup lost the match against China because they wanted to avoid meeting Mrs Najib on 16th May 2010. Reason? The players dread the possibility of being hugged by Mrs Najib! So, they took the safest course of action...lost to China and avoid the possibility.

Maybe, it's true. Just watched how our Lee CW played on Friday. Tension and mistakes. He looked worried and he "tak main puas-puas". All because of Mrs Najib..heh heh heh...

Seriously, 16th May 2010 will be another important date in Malaysian history. Forget about Thomas cup 2010. Sibu is ready to show Malaysians the way to the future.

BN may not admit it but BN is desperate to retain Sibu P212 at all cost. That's why Najib make that extra effort to visit Sibu for the third time in the space of 2 weeks. It is an indication that Sibu is not easily bought...yet. Maybe the "price is still not right" and it is understood that all available fast boats are booked for some "express deliveries" tonight.

Why is Sibu so important? Well, "white hair" Taib Mahmud needs the win for him to get inspiration for the state-wide election date which must be held before July 2011. Winning Sibu will give the assurance for "white hair" to dissolve the state assembly and all is well in the land of the hornbills.

Najib needs Sibu for BN to inch closer to 2/3 parliamentary majority which BN lost in March 2008. Najib has no prolems when millions have been spent as goodies to Sibu. Chinese and missionary schools walked away with a cool RM 18 M budget. 1,000 students collected their 1Malaysia laptops which comes along with free broadband, as announced by Rais "I burnt the bridge" Yatim. Then few millions was later pledged to improve the roads in Sibu. Najib announced a conditional RM5M for flood mitigation in Rejang parkThe list goes on but dismiss the thoughts of EC. MACC and the rest to take appropriate actions because EC will comes out prepared to rubbish all claims of "buy-election" ready to "cleanse" Najib and BN from elections wrongdoings.

PR needs to win Sibu to prove that their pact is still strong. Winning Sibu will revive PR's fading fortunes when some of PR's MPs' decided to jump ship. If PR wins Sibu, then "white hair" will be forewarned that all is not well in Sarawak anymore.

If Sibu falls to PR, then BN's vault of safe 31 parliamentary seats is no longer a guarantee in Sarawak. If the 31 seats is no longer safe vault for BN, then PR's road to Putrajaya is back on track. Imagine if Sarawak's 31 seats shift to PR and a possibility of PR holding 80 + 31 parliamentary seats! It will be UK 2010 re-visited...

At the time of this writing, there are reports coming in that PR finale ceramah is brimming with people. Something like Penang before PR takes over the state in 2008! Najib will be perspiring cold sweat now. Despite his conditional project approval, Sibu comes out in full force to attend PR ceramah and warmly welcome Hadi. Najib blared 1Malaysia but it is PR that comes out tops with leaders from DAP, PAS and PKR with almost 60 MPs' taking centre stage on this finale night.

What do BN has to offer this finale night? Apart from Najib's conditional RM3M offerto Rejang park, BN needs Jamal Abdillah and a set of sexy dancers to woo the crowd. And Rosmah takes the microphone to "toture" the crowd with 2 songs including "The moon represents my heart". Isn't that song supposed to be PAS's love song? Is Rosmah wooing PAS? Does she has Najib's blessings to openly woo PAS?

Think about this - where are UMNO, MIC, PPP, Gerakan in Sibu? Yes, there are some peninsular BN leaders there in Sibu but they are there in their capacity as cabinet ministers. What about the component parties? Is this what Najib is preaching? 1Malaysia but BN can't even manage to have a descent 1BN in Sibu...

Either way, PR wins Sibu. A strong opposition in the form of combined PR has force BN to dish out all the goodies to Sibu folks. Something that BN will not give if PR is weak. Even "white hair" is dishing 50 % discount for Sibu land lease rate. Sibu will forever thanked PR for their strong presence there which is "forcing" BN to bring "extra goodies" and "compensations"...

Sibu will be indebted to PR because P212 by-election force Najib to fly to Sibu three times. Rais is forced to stay put with his "charming" mode. Muhyiddin seems side-stepped in Sibu. Never has Sibu witness the federal cabinet ministers non-stop trail there. It will be a long time before Sibu can see these faces again there unless Sibu goes for another by-election...

Will Sibu change? Let's see Najib's reactions when EC declared PR taking P212 on 16th May 2010. PR need the win to keep Najib on his toes. The Foochows are ready, the Melanaus are willing, the Ibans are accomodating...what about EC?

Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...

They want to avoid to be hugged by big fat mama eh? In her university days she was really hot...

Someone says in her U days, her figure is much more enticing than her present figure.

Back then, when she's hot, she's hot but after a while they goes into "old stock"...

But that was old news at which time I was more interested in my 3Q's rugby position...:)

We really really really needed this Sibu result.

Kudos to Pakatan ! No matter what the media and those turncoats say, you, yes you, PAS, PKR and DAP have shown you are still a team to be reckoned with.

Now, Sarawak state elections next!

The deafening silence is puzzling. EC is effectively slow in announcing P 212 results.

Anilnetto indicated a PR win, Astro 501 hinted PR's win but why the delay?

Is BN shivering and pissing in their pants and EC is lapping BN now?

NC,

Can you just imagine a bye election where PM himself promised millions and millions to all and sundry, the vote swing was 4000 votes !!! from 2008 !!!

If a swing like that happens in the state elections in Sarawak, you think they will shiver or not!

IN a state wide election, they wont be able to offer their 'bribes' and goodies to everybody some more.

BN really gets a wake up call in Sibu!

The aamost 4000 votes swing is actually not the real story. The low turnout of 70% should be given notice too. Imagine that the low turnout means that there are outstation voters who do not make a return trip to vote as they may not have the leave or the by-election is too close to Gawai and they are preserving their monies to make the trip then.

Out of town voters are suspected to be titting towards PR and if these voters turn up, then the vote swing is much bigger than the 4,000 and it will be a humiliating defeat to BN.

BN has to realise now that even Najib's presence is no longer a big factor and Sibu has shown that monies is not everything (or is it?). BN's approach of offering monies to churches, missionary schools, national type schools, projects has backfired because the goodies are not equally distributed amongst the many races there. The Melanaus are angry because they do not get a sizeable portion, the Ibans feel cheated because of the meagre sum and the Chinese are fuming because their hard-earned collection to build schools are by-passed.

BN has a long road to win the support and the confidence of the people there and Sibu may just awaken the Ibans that they can do something to change their lifes.

Pr needs to take this opportunity to approach the Ibans and the Melanaus...

Finally, I just wonder - our hair can turn from black to white due to ae and tension but after white? Taib Mahmud's hair is already white, what colour will his hair be three months from now? :)

PM can solve Samy and OTK problem easily because they are inconsequential.

If Taib doesnt play ball and go, PM wont dare to touch him no matter what a liability it seems.

The only silver lining was that the swing was mainly urban Sibu.

The Ibans and Melanaus pretty much still status quo more or less.

Pakatan's follow up plan is really HOW TO REACH THE INNER AREAS OF SABAH AND SARAWAK AND HOW TO GET THE MESSAGE OF REFORM ACROSS TO THIS PEOPLE!!!!

Dont worry about the vote bank from the urban areas of Sabah and Sarawak, these are in the bag already, so to speak.

The Ibans and Melanaus are already on the roll. Especially when Najib by-passed then to serenade the urban voters in Sibu. They are claiming they are getting the crumbs...the "wall" is crumbling in Sarawak...watch out for my next posting due out tonite....:)

Dnightcaller,
If you look at the results closely, you would see slight increase in Iban & Melanau areas. Frankly, it's be suicidal to BN to sideline Taib Mahmud (Read : Malaysia Insider story about BN not putting up Taib's picture instead putting up Najib's picture).
In fact, Najib coming to Sarawak for electioneering campaign is one of the key factor of SUPP downfall. Sarawak is beri regionalistic one. Plus, the sight of UMNO being the real taikoh in Sarawak angered even Taib himself. Heard Taib not happy that Najib outshadow Taib. Perhaps, Taib sabo SUPP to teach Najib a lesson

Dnightcaller,
DAP strategy mimick the strategy by LKY on Mahathir over water issue. It's called the winner's curse strategy. DAP deliberately berated itself by being underdog so that to push the swing upwards. Everybody should know that it's 50 - 50. DAP knew to beat all these cheatings, one need massive swing.
Najib has taken bait & felt bitter by it. Hey, didn't I say that DAP is a precisionist. That's how PAS won Bukit Gantang. PAS quite indebted to DAP's electioneering strategy

Looes74,

PAS reported that there is a slight increase in Melanaus and Iban areas of say 12 %. Iban may be a tougher place due to the presence of Tuan rumah which basically controls their vote.

PR needs to play their cards right there and highlight on NCR issue to the Ibans and stress on lack of basic amenities to the Melanaus.

I agree with you on the "white hair" factor. I have also put that into perspective in my coming posting due out tonite...:)

As it is, SPR and SUPP is blaming the "peninsular politics" for creating "disturbances" in Sibu. Something like "rocking the boat" when in reality there is no rocking done. It is just SPR and SUPP's hallucination when they realised that they have been torpedoed in urban areas and ambushed in rural Melanau areas.

The rest, as they say it - is his story :)

After Kuching, Sibu, will the change goes to Sandakan next?

Anonymous said...

you betcha! Sandakan's one of the 4 key constituencies which Dap win in the 80s. Dap later gave up to pbs.

Anonymous said...

Dnightcaller,
Just share with you the GE12 result in Sandakan

http://undi.info/ax/state/sb/2008/parliament/P186.html

Shanty is a former high court judge. With just less than 100 votes, high chance of winning Sandakan

nightcaller said...

Looes74

For Sandakan, there is good chance as the independent candidate collected almost 3,000 votes and BN took it with a slim majority of 176 votes.

For now, PR should be working on their roadmap for Sarawak state election. DAP has deep roots in the urban areas, PAS is warmly received and PKR needs to discard their ol' UMNO habits to be close with the rakyat.

Whilst BN is squabbling and passing the blame, PR should capitalise on P 212 results and make inroads to the longhouses...

Anonymous said...

Dnightcaller,
You are right about BN Sarawak. Squabbling does happen in Sarawak, It happens very badly. You see PRS chairman has always dreamt of taking up Sarawak CMship. SPDP was more or less used by PBB to contain PRS. But with 5 jokers jumping to & fro SPDP causing anxiety among PBB? Taib got to thank its lucky stars as Ibans from Division 1 & 2 don't see eye to eye with each others. And SUPP.....SUPP is always like MCA to PBB....

Dnightcaller,
You see when the chips fall, it would go the way Parti Berjaya was gone with the wind in Sabah. By the way, DAP had won 4 parliamentaries in Sabah before in 1984. This time round, they are making a comeback in Sabah......Watch out for Pairan/PBS......Would he do a backstab?
Yeah, Wee Ka Siong says that DAP should challenge UMNO instead......Wait till DAP put its candidate in Kota Belud.
However, PAS got to be very careful with Sarawakians.....They are really very regionalists.....Put some truested PAS Sarawakians in charge....Ya.....

nightcaller said...

Looes74

PBB thus far survive in Sarawak by its "divide and rule" approach and getting SUPP to do its bidding. Not for long, though...

As for Pairin/PBS, he will be extra careful this time around because the memories of PBS-Semangat 46 is still fresh in his minds. He may go for it the second time but he needs the confidence that PR's pact is tested and strong before he brings in PBS.

As for PAS, it may be a good idea for them to place a non-Muslim from its PAS supporters club (due to be officially formed this 23rd May 2010) to jointly work with local PAS leaders to plan their strategies in Sarawak along with their PR counterpart.

As i said it last year, Taib Mahmud is mentally weaker now that he is alone in Petrajaya...who knows, this is the best bet for PR to wrest Sarawak in 2011...

Dnightcaller,
Beware of the vultures all there. James Masing is one of them. Have you read Audie61? The best blog on Sarawak. James didn't forgive Taib for the Ming Court's affair (Correct me if I am wrong). Of course, Taib's uncle's relatives also plotting the moves. Guess why Taib look pretty worried....
Sarawak can be pretty fluid....You would never know at the end of the day, you might not be surprised if PBB cum SUPP do a Brutus on UMNO.....Ok, I am too imaginative laaa......
One small wrong move can be deadly fatal.....

Dnightcaller,
Well, I would love to see Baru Bian as new Sarawak CM....My wishlist....Hehehe
Read Audie61....You can't miss things happenning in Sarawak in that blog
