Tri-elections : My take...without regrets and beyond...

1. By the time this posting goes out, it will be less than 48 hours before the voters of 2 state seats and 1 parliament seat go to the polling stations. 2 deaths and 1 resignation cause the tri-elections. EC, with its own reasons, choose 7th April 2009 as the tri-election date.

2. Typical of BN, their central theme for the tri-elections is that of development. With Najib Tun Razak taking over from Tun AAB on 3rd April 2009, BN is pushing for "One Malaysia", in line with Najib's maiden speech on live TV.

3. If the supporters turnout on the nomination day is reflective of what to come, BN will be having problems in getting enough votes to win DUN Bukit Selambau and Bukit Gantang parliamentary seat.

4. The campaign strategy, the claims of mass defections, the campaign leaflets and banners add colours to the tri-elections. BN has been on the offensive and so has PR.

5. As the polling dates is growing closer, both sides are getting to each other nerves with 2 incidences of near fracas for all in Bukit Selambau and Bukit Gantang. Fortunately, the police successfully defuse the tension with FRU's intimidating presence.

6. BN is using Mahathir Mohamed as their final campaign weapon. He is scheduled to make his grand entrance on 6th April 2009. Whether he still has the clout, support and charm to win over fence sitters is yet to be seen.

7. The MSN is still holding to their age old philisophy of paying glowing pictures to BN's chances. In contrast, the main bloggers are banking their support on PR.

8. As I will be going "underground" until election day, my hope for the tri-elections are as follows :-

i) Bukit Selambau - PR by a majority of 1500 votes. 10 independents losing their deposit.
ii) Bukit Gantang - PR by a majority of 3500.
iii) Batang Ai - PR by a majority of 450

9. That is my hope. My further hope is that the tri-elections is not a referendum to any particular party or person. It shall be a strong reason for Najib to seriously think of enganging PR in table talk for Perak's future and to break the impasse on Perak constitutional crisis.

10. However, anything can change. Reality may differ from hope. In life, good guys need not always win. I am a sentimentalist believing in idealism. Idealism of fair election, clean campaign, gentlemanly conduct of campaign workers, professionalism of police force and integrity of EC. Who can vouch that those machineries are totally unbiased?

11. Promises has been made. Promises of non-personal attacks against the opposing camps. Is this adhered to?

12. Malaysians need to be educated more on politics. Are we heading towards American democracy or Thailand democracy? Malaysians are not even sure of what the Perak legislation days with regards to the current constitutional crisis.

13. Our political leaders are still "self centred, egoist, power crazy, insensitive, hypocrites" who value their "political destiny" more than the welfare of Joe public. And the public is still blinded by the "sweet charming, fork tongued" politicians ala medicine sellers who come in droves to sell their hardwares in every elections.

14. Where are the righteous principled people the likes of Raja Petra, Sakmongkol, Wenger, Nobisha, Zorro, Lawyer kampung, Din Merican, Haris and others? Those who dare to call things as it is, without fear and favour? Are they, will they be ready to jump into the political arena as gladiators fighting for the public?

15. It may be hard and tough but if we want a better Malaysia for all Malaysians, efforts must be made to gather all of them together in a round table discussion and frank talk, to see what is wrong and what can be done to correct the wrong. It may not be the perfect solution but it will do for now.

16. And of course, some political leaders may have to go...are the politicians willing to go for the sake of 27 million Malaysians? Or are they still stuck within their over-inflated ego feeding on Malaysians misery and hope...

Are there others who has the same hope or are we sitting down accepting things as they are?? Think about this seriously.

Will be "officially" back after the tri-elections...

P59 : Getting desperate?...put up provocative banner...

Posting by postings has been put up calling for fair play and fair campaigning. It seems that desperation is hitting on BN!

Al banjari posted about near skirmishes between BN and PR party workers at Simpang 3, Changkat Ibol. It is reported that BN party workers intended to put up banner equating PAS to dogs, which is strictly taboo to Muslims especially Malaysian muslims.

MB Zamry urged both sides to remain calm. A question to MB Zambry - do you condone the banner depicting and equating PAS as dogs? If you do, then it is useless for you to blare out your love for Islam when you have such black heart...

If this degrading banners managed to make its rounds in Bukit Gantang, this scribe sincerely doubt that both sides can merge back once the by election is over. And do Perakians want that to happen?

The act of putting offensive banners is an act of desperation by desperate people. BN is getting desperate, yes...but BN should not resort to degrading banners as BN has an ace up its sleeve. That ace is Mahathir...so BN should bide its time and wait for teh submarine to surface...sources said that the submarine will be surfacing either this afternoon or latest by tomorrow afternoon in Bukit Gantang...

Hello, BN and PR friends...keep cool in this trying times...

Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...

FRU were needed to be called in to control the situation. 50 FRUs' responded to defuse the situation. Kudos to FRU. Read More

P59 : To BN...it's party time...in the face of defeat...

Bicycles are in demand in P59! Somebody may be crying at home...there goes my fuel claims......
Putri UMNO is resorting to bicycle power to make their rounds in P59. With all the heat, will the putris wilt?

Unfortunately, these are the macai Putris...the top putri is zooming around. The wanita is cruising along, the Pemuda is rempiting across...

And Zahid Hamidi...yes..THE Zahid Hamidi who is suppose to look into the Islamic welfare of the country is enjoying a different kind of show in Kg Baru Sepetang. First, promise the voters development, then serenade them....

This is a clear sign of BN getting really desperate. When you can't get the crowd out for your function, entice them with shakeable music, girls added free of charge....afterall AAB's Islam Hadari is gone...this is blasting time...new BN era...those of NTR...with Zahid Hamidi in tow....and just for safety measure, blame it on the Chinese claiming that "this is part of the Chinese culture".

And to be on the safe side, start accusing PAS-PR of dirty tactics. For this, KJ will not do, Shahrizat is a no go, Zahid Hamidi is too busy being "entertained", Mahathir is too far away...so who do you call?...Ghost buster? No!...Who else? Deputy President (UMNO) and designate Deputy PM himself...Muhyiddin Yassin.

Say what you want...BN is sure going down for now... Read More

P59: BN submerging...launch submarine 1 aka backup plan no 2

Move over AAB, clear the way KJ,hit the road Jack the "ultimate" nemesis is back in business !!

Malaysiakini quoted Bukit Gantang Umno division secretary Jamal Idris who said that Mahathir would be in the constituency on Sunday. His main purpose is to campaign for BN candidate Ismail Safiin.

What does it say about Mahathir's imminent return to Bukit Gantang campaign trail? Well, for one, is Majib sending a subtle signal to Ketua Pemuda UMNO that his contribution is not up to mark? If it is, pity KJ...sudah jatuh ditimpa tangga. FIL resigning on 2nd April 2009 and PM2B taking oath of office on 3rd April 2009. Oooops, slip of tongue! Should not have gone through with the pre-announcement. What gives? Is PM2B too desperate that he needs to pre-empt AAB's possible last moves? You be the judge...Worst for KJ, Mahathir is returning to centrestage...

No wonder the friendly Wenger J Khairy is looking for Mortein, Baygon or Ridsect. I presume to spray Mahathir? If Wenger could not find any of those pesticides, he can always rely on pepper spray, courtesy of the Kelantanese Datuk....

The battle for 55562 votes is extremely crucial for NTR. Win and he can claim that BN has regain its past glory. Lost and he might have to surrender Perak back to PR.

What's the score now? Malaysiakini is hedging that MB Nizar has the edge. To counter MB Nizar's popularity, NTR (not BN) has to seek Mahathir's intervention. And, truthfully, Mahathir may still have the ooomph to match MB Nizar.

It is time for master blogger Kickdefella to enter the scene. And it won't be surprising if some hibernating blogs will be re-activated to keep Mahathir at bay.

Say what you want, BN is submerging and in order to survive, tehy have to resort to re-activating old horse in the form of submarine. Come to think about it, PAS-PR may have some prior insider's knowledge on Mahathir. The prove? Didn't anyone notice the submarine model hoisted by PAS-PR during nomination day?...

It is sure getting hotter in Bukit Gantang despite the almost daily afternoon rain....

P59: Then it was 3...now it is 2...

Let's make it plain and clear. 3 candidates lodged their nomination papers for the hot seat. All 3 has been announced eligible to contest by the Returning officer. That was 29th March 2009.

Now, 1st April 2009. April Fool's day. The race is on between 2 main contenders. MB Nizar and MB Zambry. Kamarul Ramizu Idris can take a hike. He can choose to roam the Taiping lake, if he choose to. He is no longer in the pack. Actually, he never was.

Reading through his statements published by the Star, these can be saif od Kamarul...

1. At 42, he admitted that he never voted. Worse still, he never register to vote!! Is this the guy we want to represent us at Federal level to fight for our needs? If he did not practise his moral and social obligation to register, do he care about Malaysian democracy? Nah..he is in for the temporary spotlight. Just like that freak show Akedemi Fantasia...Day 4, pack your trolley bag and wave goodbye to P59, Kamarul...you are on the wrong show.

2. He claimed that he was not interested in politics as he sees it as a dirty game. So, if he regards politics as dirty, why do he jump in, in the first place? Hai...Labu, Labu....Further compounded by his statement that he was not interested in politics. And if someone were to quiz him on Malaysian history and politics, he may fail big time. If he is not interested, why enter? We do things that we like. Heck, even we choose our current profession because of our interest, apart from the paycheque. Kamarul...if you are not interested, please stay out!

3. Minion amongst the giants, that's is his third statement. Who is he kidding? Ismail Safiin of BN regarded BN's fight against PAS-PR is like David against Goliath. And If Ismail Safiin regards himself as David whilst potraying MB Nizar as Goliath, then who shall Kamarul represent? Your guess is as good as mine...

4. Planning to form his own party? Kamrul, better shelve that thought. First, he has no knowledge of Malaysian politics, then he has no interest in politics, followed by the fact that he is not a registered voter. It is better for him to save whatever money he has. Politics is big time game. Let the pros do it. If AKIM cannot do it, Hamim and Berjasa dissolved because of it, UMNO deregistered due to it, Kamarul better put his plans into the incinerator!

5. Simple concept of create a society built on faith and integrity by practising ethical politics. That's what he said. UMNO later Perikatan which was later incorporated into BN failed to do that for the past 50 years, what makes he feels he has better chance? At 42, he better stay back. It is too late for him to be involved. If he still wants to see it through, maybe, just maybe he can join Gerakan or PPP and see how far he can go...Why Gerakan or PPP? These parties were once dominant in Perak, so Kamarul can start building his base with them. Forge UMNO, because UMNO has already too many failed Kamaruls in the party.

6. Kamarul called on former Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin and Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir to cast aside their egos and put the state’s interest first. Where was Kamarul the past few months? Did he make any stands then? What is his stand now? Isn't this election about referendum for MB Nizar, and peoples acceptance for MB Zambry? Kamarul may have been hibernating all this while...

7. Wherever Kamarul goes, he is accompanied by his 300-men machinery carrying black umbrellas – the symbol for his campaign. Aaahhh...just one question...how many of the so called machinery are registered voters? And if they are, how many are registered in P59?

That said, it can be safely concluded now that Kamarul is officially out of the race...

Unless, of course, this writer is going to be April fooled big time on 7th April 2009.

P59: BN is panicking...launch backup plan no 1

Say what you want, BN is starting to feel the pressure. First, PR's crowd overwhelm BN's crowd during nomination day. At to top it all up, did anyone notice how PR supporters reacts to KJ's presence when he "visited" the opposition side? And did anyone read the reception given to Karpal Singh? And by that, a right framed person can see that BN's crowd, although small in numbers, are rowdy even without provocation...

BN followed through with propaganda leaflets, lining PAS's candidate as Namrud and a Marxist. And finding that the leaflets is not giving the desired effect, BN is getting panicky and has launch back up plan no 1. What is back up plan no 1?

First, the police is now issuing a gag order to PKR banning them from touching the following issues :-

1. No instigating the crowd by questioning the Perak sultan's decision;
2. No mention of the Altantuya issue must be made;

Why is it applicable to PKR only? Or is it also cover PAS? What about BN? Why is it spared from this? Double standard? Nah...this is just plain panic by BN. To BN, if you can't match them, mobilise your back up plan. Use the police...

Simply put...BN is shifting the goal post and at the same time immobilise the opposition. Is this is what in store for the rest of us in future elections?? Read More

P59 : Pusingan 2...

Insaflah...masa belum terlambat.

Hingga ketemu lagi...selamat malam M'sia...dimana jua anda berada... Read More

P59 - Round 1...rakyat leads

29th March 2009, history in Taiping. PR supporters gather in numbers from early morning to dwarf BN marchers at the nomination centre. Pictures can be seen in al banjari, zorro and even merah tinta. And pictures paints a thousand words !

MB Zambry used the MSM to blame MB Nizar of trying to 'take over' a BN organised event in a masjid, that of Yassin and solat hajat. MB Nizar has used his blog to explain the commotion.

Before going any further, let us understand that the main criteria of being an Imam is that the Imam-elect has good (perfect) pronounciation of the Quran, and he is known to accepted to be pious. It is no use to recite perfect Quran but heavily involve in corruption and deeds contrary to Islamic teachings. That, my friend speak volumes of the Imam's recognition bestowed to MB Nizar. MB Zambry - eat your heart out !

Wenger rightly pointed out that it will be an uphill battle for BN. It is better for BN to abandon P59 and concentrate on Bukit Selambau and Batang Ai. BN, at least may not be losing their credibility there.

There are desperate attempts by those in BN to drag the monarchy in P59. Please!!!! Do not drag the monarchy into the by election. This is a straight fight between PR and BN. It is not about the monarchy, nor is it about loyalty or treason towards the monarchy system. Any attempts by BN to drag the monarchy into the fray is going o hurt BN BIG TIME.

More will be coming in later...

SPR : Of P59, Kedah's N25, arrest warant and ...

One by qada' and qadar, the other due to vacation. 2 seats, 2 by elections, 2 states. 1 in Perak, the other in Kedah. When? SPR will decide on 13th Feb '08.

Although DAP Perak has suggested MB Nizar to stand in P 59, PAS spiritual leader TG Nik Aziz feels otherwise and TGNA with his vast experience in Malaysian politics may be right. His reasoning is simple and straight to the point.

Looking back, will BN field Azim Zabidi, UMNO treasurer, this time around? MB Nizar has upped the contest by saying P 59 will be a referendum of voters' support to PR.
AAB play it down saying that it is not a referendum, in obvious reference to BN taking over Perak state from PR through defections, hopping and counter hopping. Maybe, we need Rafidah Aziz to cling on AAB asking "Why?, Why Pak Lah? Why not?" as only she can do it best during Tun M's era...

As for Kedah N25 seat, Arumugam vacated the seat after claiming that BN has continually pressured and enticed him to abandon PR coupled with claims of intrusion to his private life. BN came out defensively to deny the claim after the announcement. The question is why now? Why after the seat is vacated, BN issue the denial? Why not before? If P59 is expected to be the clash between PR (PAS) and BN (UMNO), N25 will see PR (PKR/DAP) against BN (MIC). Will MIC nominate S Krishnan again? One prospective candidate has offered himself to PR.

In court, arrest warant has been issued against Osman Jailu, one of the four reps who cause Perak government to crumble. Let's see if he got any special treatment cum priviledge. It is further believed that Osman is recuperating in Selayang Hospital.

In KK, 6 EXCOs' took their oath of office before HRH Sultan Perak. Missing from the list is the "Gang of 4", Datuk Nasirudin Hashim, Osman Jailu, Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Hee. Guess Hee has to wait a little longer for her Camry...HeeHaw says the donkey....

What about the other donkeys? Will BN line up Datuk Nasirudin Hashim in P 59 and see the voters response? A win for Nasirudin will indicate that he make the right decision. A loss means that he is not acceptable to UMNO Perak.

These by-elections will be another litmus test for UMNO and PR. UMNO will be fresh from their AGM and will be coming in with a new President, newly elected Deputy President and the current PM...Is that possible? Only UMNO can...

Bercakap tentang derhaka, satu komen yang menarik diterima. Sila baca disini. Mungkin UMNO boleh merenung sejenak tentang peristiwa2 berikut :-

1. Ghazali Jawi "derhaka" kepada Sultan Idris Perak bila enggan meletak jawatan MB;
2. UMNO derhaka kepada Raja-raja apabila meminda perlembagaan persekutuan semasa DYMM Sultan Azlan menjadi Agung;
3. Anuar Musa derhaka kepada Sultan Kelantan apabila menabalkan Sultan alternatif;
4. UMNO Terengganu derhaka kepada Sultan Terengganu apabila "memaki" baginda ketika Idris Jusoh tidak diterima menjadi MB Terengganu;
5. Barisan kepimpinan UMNO Terengganu derhaka kepada Sultan Terengganu yang juga Agung pada ketika ini apabila memberi kata dua kepada DYMM Sultan;
6. HSBC derhaka kepada Allahyarham YDP NS kerana menyaman baginda atas jaminan bank yang dibuat baginda.
