Of Nik Aziz : The pillar against the pillage....

  1. Lately Kelantan UMNO is no longer thinking and strategising on"how" to oust PAS from the government seat. For UMNO, it has become a "must do now" situation to topple the esisting state government of the day.
  2. Point blank, UMNO wants Kelantan state government to go down now, not a day longer, if possible. And the one standing against UMNO's onslaught is Nik Aziz and his states assemblymen.
  3. Why do I say so? Let's rewind back to MU by-election, the time when PR promised that they will highlight the issue of Kelantan oil royalty right up to the parliament. Back then, a well-known blogger who is also attached to Kelantan state government challenged the high seas to verify first-hand that the platforms are within Kelantan.

    During that time, DPM Muhyiddein came out with denial statements and ended up instructing Petronas to answer Kelantan claims and to confirm that Kelantan did not has the rights to the oil royalty. Up to now, Petronas is dead silent on this issue.

  4. True to form, PR MPs bring out the oil royalty issue again in the august house and 1M PM6 has no choice but to declare some form of compensation to Kelantan government. The compensation did not come by the name of "oil royalty" but wang ehsan (compassionate fund). Suddenly, it's deja vu again...similar to what PAS-led Terengganu government got when they govern the state in the late 90's.

    For those who are familiar with this, they will surely remember BN's "Gelombang biru" slogan. The compassionate fund was disbursed to Terengganu UMNO and with almost unlimited funds, Terengganu BN use he funds to "buy" election and the rest, as they say it, is history when PAS failed to defend Terengganu in 2004.

  5. With 1M PM6's announcement of wang ehsan, UMNO politicians in Kelantan is smelling money all the way to the banks. As in Kelantan, it has been said that the wang ehsan will be channeled through Jabatan Persekutuan and also through UMNO divisions.

    With the amount of money coming Kelantan way, UMNO is getting cocky on their chances to wrest Kelantan and the only person standing in their way is Nik Aziz Nik Mat.

  6. For UMNO, Nik Aziz is a thorn that they cannot live with. Nik Aziz has to go and to do that, UMNO is looking at all possible angles to discredit Nik Aziz. The latest is the demonstration against Nik Aziz.

    UMNO can choose to deny what they planned in front of Kelantan state secretariat building. UMNO can even deny that their members are involve in the illegal gathering. UMNO can even issue statements to deny whatever they choose to deny. That's UMNO's information bureau's job but :-

    • how is it possible for the women to be clad in the familiar pink tudungs? Isn't that the Putri UMNO's "uniform"?;
    • how is it possible that some of the participants are wearing UMNO shirts if they are not UMNO members?;
    • why are the participants asking for Nik Aziz to resign on the pretext that Nik Aziz urged Kelantan people to "doa laknat" PM? but at the same time remains "meek" when Kelantan were demanding the oil royaly money?;
    • where are the participants when "doa laknat" were said on the cruelty and brutality of Israelis against the Palestinians?. If by reasoning that we should not "doa laknat" other human beings, then many imams in many masjids were equally guilty;
    • if Nik Aziz feels that Kelantan has been wronged (teraniayai), then isn't it their rights to ask for God's help to "laknat" those who wrong them?. Isn't this part and parcel of Islamic teaching that the prayers by those wronged will be swiftly answered by the Creator?;
    • Nik Aziz urged Kelantan people to join him in "doa laknat", he did not force them to join him. It's the peoples' choice, let them decide;
    • if UMNO feels that their great leader is wronged, then by all means perform "doa laknat" if that makes them happy;

  7. The illegal gathering has all the markings of UMNO doings. They are hoping to inflame Kelantanese to take the streets. They are also hoping for a reason to impose Mageran in Kelantan.

    If UMNO could not achieve their primary target, the illegal gathering leaders are hoping that their vocals are heard by 1M PM6 and ended up in BN's good books to be part of the team to control Kelantan's wang ehsan. That is what they want - a direct access to the kitty bank of Kelantan wang ehsan.

  8. Do Kelantan UMNO leaders care? Do they care what Tg Razaleigh has to say? Do they care that Tg Razaleigh, an UMNO veteran, may be leading the parliament caucus on the oil royalty? Do they care when Tg Razaleigh opinioned that Kelantan is eligible for the oil royalty?
  9. Before you make your decision, consider this. If UMNO Kelantan get hold of wang ehsan, they may end up managing the funds the way UMNO Terengganu did. They will use the funds to buy over Kelantan. They may even end up the way UMNO Terengganu did - building and organising the fledgling monsoon cup and heritage club, construct the one-wonder stadium with roof collapsing within a year after opening ceremony, the forgettable Taman Tamadun Islam and so on.
  10. In short, Kelantan UMNO will pillage the fund, creating questionable projects and will also use whatever means possible to buy votes and support. All in a day's work to please their great leader. Do you think UMNO will care about the welfare of Kelantan people? Do you think they will voluntarily carry out their duties if the money did not go into their own pockets?
  11. Malaysia has been under UMNO and BN since independence and with 50 years of experience, UMNO has conned us, time and time again, the latest will be the impending sugar price this coming 2010. That will trigger another round of price escalation, courtesy of our great leader 1M PM6. I feel that I am wronged here, don't you? Is UMNO implying that the price rise is a noble cause to prevent consumers from over-consuming sugar? To prevent us from being a diabetic? Geez, what a lame excuse from UMNO and BN!
  12. So, that leads us to the million ringgit question - who dare to stand against UMNO Kelantan? The answer is clear, the man is Nik Aziz Nik Mat. He has been guarding the Kelantan fort for the past 18 years and God willing he will continue to guard "Serambi Mekah" from UMNO pillage.

    Nik Aziz is the pillar of strength for Kelantan. UMNO can do what they want but this wise old man is still standing firm and unwavering in his principle. How I wish we can have more of Nik Aziz to guide us than having to live with the "spin doctor" from Angkasapuri.

  13. The answer, my friend...is in the wind.....UMNO knows that to govern Kelantan, they have to push Nik Aziz aside. To these leaders, there is no more respect towards a religous scholar. To them, the end justifies the means....and let me offer my "doa laknat" to those leaders of the illegal assembly who do could not differentiate between a diamond and a piece of worthless glass.

    Just in case some of you failed to get my drift, on this issue, the worthless piece of glass comes emblazoned with the words UMNO on it.

  14. By the way, I am looking forward to see what the blogger who went to Dubai will be bringing back with him. I hope he's not bringing back rolls of testimonials for the MP who did not make it to the cabinet (Hint : He comes from NS). A packet of dates will do, a box of olive and figs will be great, a healthy Arabian stallion will be a bliss...

Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...

Of SILs' ...and time to bade farewell.

  1. Words don't come easy. But sometimes you have to say what you have to say...
  2. The past few days has been frustrating because the internet connection is downright slow that to gain access to internet is virtually impossible. No thanks to Maxis broadband...(maybe they are too busy with their IPOs').
  3. Today, it is not about the recently concluded APEC meeting in Singapore nor Tun Mahathir's coverage in History channel or another stunning revelation by PI Bala (will he change his story again?).
  4. Today, it's the family relationship will take centre stage. Yes, SILs' or Son-in-laws. Somehow..why are the SILs' become thorns in the flesh? Is it because there are no specific criteria for a good SIL? I mean, there are some guidelines for a daughter-in-law such as :-

    • pious in performing her religous obligations;
    • good family background;
    • fertile (can bear children);
    • beautiful; and lastly should I add
    • rich and influential (which is an added bonus)

  5. Since there are no specific guidelines for Son-in-laws', 2 father-in-laws (FIL) are paying the price for their mistakes in "overlooking" the minute guidelines for a good SIL. What more, both these FIL are leaders in their own rights.
  6. The first is AAB. Taking the mantle from Mahathir Mohamed, he promised to sweep corruption, cronism and what nots. Big in promises but AAB failed to deliver and his failure is singularly pointed to his SIL, KJ. Since this has passed, let's not make this as issue, for now...
  7. Now, trouble is brewing in "Serambi Mekah". This time, it is not AAB who is under the microscope but Nik Aziz, PAS spiritual leader. And again, the centerpiece of the whole problem is SIL. For Nik Aziz, the SIL comes in the name of Arffahmi Abdul Rahman, PMBK's CEO. Let's call him SIL 2.
  8. It started small...and this blogger posted it in "Sometimes...when we are out of touch". When DPM pour kerosene to the issue, this blogger posted "DPM sir : It's better to keep quiet than to talk nonsense".
  9. Now the issue is getting bigger when Kickdefella posted "Tauke Teng, Nuding Awang and George Michael". The points raised by Kickdefella that caught my attention are :-

    • Nudin Awang is the person who intended to sponsor Nik Aziz's hajj pilgrimage. Nudin Awang flaunt his receipts for all and sundry to see that he is sponsoring the trip. Nudin Awang is a director of Great Eastern mill;
    • SIL 2 is the one who talk Nik Aziz into agreeing to perform the hajj this year;
    • SIL 2 is an UMNO lifetime member with card membership 0266057 from Machang division. In fact, all his family members (except one of his brothers) are UMNO members;
    • SIL 2 hold a secret meeting and hatch plans to replace PAS President with another person;

  10. Rightly, SIL 2 shot back and claimed that :-

    • he is not an UMNO member and he has not fill in any application form;
    • he is involved in Islamist activity when he was a student in UTM;

  11. It's clear that there is something wrong with our political system. If Ariffahmi's claim that he never applied to be an UMNO member is true, then who put in the application form? Who did it and how did UMNO screen their potential members?
  12. If not, then Kickdefella has accused wrongly and should offer his apology. However, if SIL 2 is indeed an UMNO member, then this surely worse than Brutus stabbing Caesar. It will be worse still if SIL 2 planned this in collaboration with UMNO (either Kelantan UMNO or federal UMNO).
  13. Being an Islamist activist does not make SIL 2 a PAS member. The proof is already out there...Mashitah was an Islamic scholar and so is Firdaus. But they became UMNO members...
  14. Truly, I fear that SIL 2 is the thorn in Nik Aziz's flesh. A thorn that must be removed at all cost.
  15. You see, I respect Nik Aziz for his wisdom and his religous stands. His simplicity in responding to MSM's questions mirrored his sincerity. And now SIL 2 is blurring the good deeds of Nik Aziz.
  16. Hopefully, all ends well in Kelantan. I hope Nik Aziz will fall back to his wisdom again to differentiate the haq from bathil....it is not easy to uphold one's integrity especially when one is standing behind the banners of rightousness...
  17. Of course, you cannot blame UMNO for using this opportunity to run down Nik Aziz. they have tried for the past 18 years and they are hoping that this time they will succeed, with the help of SIL 2...and my prayers are with Nik Aziz to ride off the storm, courtesy of his own SIL 2...

Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...

PAS : It's a bird, it's a plane...it's a boomerang!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen ! Tuan Guru Nik Aziz is fuming and I don't blame him. Not one bit. As PAS's Murshidul Am, he has the right to say it. In general terms - "Nasha, you are fired!!!!" ala Donald Trump of "The Apprentice".

55th PAS muktamar is over but it ain't over for the UG (Unity Government) proponents. Although the delegates has clearly sent the message across, the top 2 leaders (read Hadi Awang and Nasharuddin) has taken a different view. Simply put, they are for Unity Government.

They can call it whatever names they want. Basically it is unity government. Now that Hadi Awang is overseas, Nasharuddin has re-ignite the issue when he welcomed Najib's statement for PAS and UMNO to sit down together.

The PAS groundswell against the UG is building up and like the magma, it will erupts. One newspaper says it Nik's Fury. Across blogs supporting PAS, there are intense discussion on the matter. Some say it's Hadi and Nasha's personal opinions and some say it's strategy. I call it crap...
Now, let's get a little bit serious, shall we? Whatever definiton given by Hadi & gang on UG, PAS should ask themselves :-
  1. Why UMNO choose this particular time to talk about UG? Why after BN gets rubbed in GE12 then the idea of UG materialise?
  2. Why is UG offered to PAS only? Is this an exclusive offer to PAS?
  3. Did UMNO inform their BN components on the UG? What are their feedback?
  4. Why is the preliminary talk done in hush-hush manner? Are the top leadership of the parties involved informed?
  5. What is the purpose of UG? To maintain UMNO's grip on power? To abolish opposition?
  6. What is the aim of UG? Is it for the benefit of all Malaysians, regardless of religion, reace or creed?
  7. What assurance does PAS have that this UG is genuine? Will PAS be played out again? Is it a ploy to segregate PAS from DAP/PKR?
The spinmasters are working overtime to potray that UG is necessary now. Awani Agenda focus on UG on 17th June 2009 but their focus has been narrowed down to co-operation between the supporters of different political parties.

Nobisha summed up the program as follows :-
  1. Political parties should not be "competing" in conflicts nor should they be "avoiding". Rather the political parties shouls adapt the "collaborating" towards solution;
  2. The panelists looks at Mustapha Ali's "conditional agreement" of including PKR/DAP in the proposed UG talks with Shahidan Kassim saying that both parties should be finding reasons to be friends;
  3. Political parties should work on "co-operation" between different parties and to leave "confrontational politics". This can be initiated by joint events between political parties;
I look at the points given in Awani agenda as vain. Why, after 50 years, only UMNO decided to abandon their concept of competing? When UMNO is strong, did UMNO ever think of "colloborating"? Did UMNO think of "accomodating" others? What UMNO thinks, at that time, is how to enrich themselves and how to "eliminate" the opposition parties. Having said that, on what grounds is UMNO coming in throwing the idea of "colloborating"?

On conditional agreements posed forward by Mustapha Ali. The extra conditions are merely cosmetic damage control. Mustapha Ali, being one of the major proponents of UG, realised that Nik's fury is boundless and the best way to pacify the PAS old wise man is to apply damage control. At least until Hadi Awang returns home from abroad. The other reason for the extra conditions is to calm both PKR and DAP, untuil Hadi Awang can explain to PKR/DAP leadership on 22nd June 2009.

Shahidan diverts the UG to so-operation at lower levels. The first and basic question is who started it? Who started to withdraw scholarships and aids to those who are not aligned to UMNO? Who started to replace the imams and community leaders with UMNO heads and macais? Who started them all? The answer is not far...it is UMNO.

No doubt, history has records of UG in UK. That was during the world war when the government sees it fit to combine the strength and talent to face common external enemies. Malaysia, at one stage, also practise UG when BN was first formed. However, UMNO use the concept to tighten their stranglehold, taking Kelantan from PAS, reducing Gerakan into 3rd rate party when they lose rection for Penang, destroying the once strong PPP in Perak. So, which form of UG is UMNO talking? Is it confine to giving vitamins to the ailing UMNO so that they can strangle PAS again?

Why not PKR and why not DAP? Both UMNO and PAS are rural based parties where their base platforms are from rural areas. The difference is that UMNO is on nationalistic approach whilst PAS is working on spiritual aspects. That's the main difference between UMNO and PAS. From thereon, PKR and DAP are urban based parties. PKR is actually a splinter group of UMNO, strengthened by multi race members and filled up with professionals and various political background. DAP is another urban based party. So, it is not surprising for UMNO to approach PAS because both are fighting tooth and nail for the rural support. PAS is "parti kampung" where the people place spiritual acceptance higher than materialistic success ie where the success or failure is based on materialistic scale.

UMNO realised that they have abandon the rural folks when their leaders embrace cosmopolitan way of life, flashing brand new cars and showing off diamond and gold clad wives. To win back the rural support, UMNO has to don sheep clothings yet again, wearing skullcaps to religous activities and talking about the betterment of rural folks. That approach may work in the 60's , 70's and the 80's. Now, rural folks are more sophisticated than that. Now rural folks take kain pelikats, kiss surah yassin give by UMNO, ride new bicycles donated by the putris but when it comes to voting, they vote for "panadol".

UMNO is running out of options. Their young leaders are out of touch with the people. KJ never grow up with the kampong guys, playing football in the padi fields, climbing rambutan trees, stoning mangoes. Some UMNO youth leaders are too engrossed in piling wealth. They may be good leaders and good visionaries but their priorities is being rich so that they can flaunt their wealth in exchange of power and influence. That's what separates UMNO rom PAS youth leaders. PAS youth are from the ground, volunteers who will spring into action because they placed spiritual winnings above worldy wealth.

Some may say that UG may work. Hadi, Nasha, Mustapha Ali may pray for UG but they must also realise that PAS victories in 2008 is partially aided by DAP and the non-Muslims. Are they prepared to turn their backs on the supporters who work hard for PAS's victories for their own selfish gains? If they keep on harping to get BN to dissolve Perak state assembly, are they willing to dissolve Kedah, Kelantan if they proceed with UG talk?

PAS must realise that many external factors propel PR to win big in 2008. If Hadi, Nasha and Mustapha continue dreaming UG, they may be actually facing defeat and facing the prospect of being voted out of PAS. Are they willing? If that happen, do they think UMNO will accept them? PAS must see and study how UMNO treated Nakhaie Awang, former PAS deputy President...how UMNO treated Izam, former PKR youth leader. And what about those dozens of PKR members who migrated to UMNO? Where are they now? They are now no better than carpet sweepers, sweeping UMNO's dirt and washing dirty linen in public...

PAS is flying high now..and PAS better abandon any thoughts of UG with UMNO unless they are willing to receive deadly boomerang....I have said what I want to say...What about you?

Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...
