Of Loke's misteps.... and Tok Mat's action plan

Is winning and becoming Transport Minister is too big for Anthony Loke?

Missteps and courting unnecessary controversies is unsettling PH leaders. This should be arrested soon unless PH is aiming for a 1-term government...

The latest controversy courted by Anthony Loke needs scrutiny. Remember his aide started Anthony's trouble when he alledgedly accused RTM of sabotaging his boss when RTM dis not broadcast the inister's activity during the recent Chinese New Year do...

The aide's complaints forced Information Minister, Gobind Singh Deo, to instruct RTM for report and finally the Minister cleared RTM of any wrongdoings.

It all comes to Standard Operating Procedure and hopefully the aide will not rush into accusing others of sabotaging his boss in the future.

Wait!! Even before the dust settled, Anthony Loke courted another controversy, this time in China when his wife was in the official meeting.

The questions arise :-

1. Why was she in the official meeting? On what capacity?
2. Why did Anthony Loke upload it in his facebook? Wanted to show off that his wife is in the official meeting?;
3. Did Anthony Loke understand working protocol?
4. Anthony Loke claimed that the Chinese Minister invited the wife to sit in the meeting;
5. As a seasoned politician, Anthony Loke should graciously turn down the invitation and let the wife sit out of the meeting;
6. Is Anthony Loke's wife bounded by sworn secrecy for Official secret? She is not so why Anthony Loke puts unnecessary added pressure to his own?
7. Anthony should learn from his seniors and predecessors and Tun M is a good example. Did Tun M brings Tun Hasmah to sit in official government meeting?

That said, Anthony Loke should not be juggling himself out. A wrong is a wrong and maybe it is time for Anthony Loke to find a new and more able aide.

Enough on the foolish actions of Anthony Loke....

With Rantau By-election coming in soon, UMNO is trying to capitalise on their shaky relationship with PAS. Tok Mat, who got EC to declare Rantau state seat vacant, is expected to be re-contest there.

Tok Mat said :-

1. He would rather be vanquished in Rantau than to step down;
2. He vowed to defend Rantau state seat;

In anticipation of Rantau by-election, Tok Mat declared that UMNO and PAS will meet in the near future to map out their way forward. Both parties intend to :-

1. Discuss details on their co-operation between the two parties;
2. Tok Mat (Acting UMNO President) and Tuan Ibrahim (PAS Deputy President) will lead their respective parties;

Well, well, well... where is Hadi Awang? Isn't he and Takiyuddin express their support for Tun M as PM? Weren't they too the one who pledge that they will not co-operate with UMNO? Or is it all shadow play? Or is there any possibility of Tuan Ibrahim taking control of PAS and sidelining Hadi Awang?

The next couple of days will be interesting. How will Anthony Loke wriggle out from his over-obsession of facebook? Will Anthony apologise? make a U-turn? Who will be the fall guy?

On Tok Mat, is UMNO showing MCA & MIC the door whilst opening another door for PAS? Is UMNO going ultra Malay with PAS in tow? Or is UMNO signalling that they will be "purely" Malay party with no connection to MCA?

Me? Why court trouble if trouble don't disturbs you... unless you are Papagomo...

Wan Muhammad Azri @Papagomo was today slapped with two charges in connection with assault on Minister of Youth & Sports during the recent Semenyih by-election nomination day. The court lowered the set bail at RM 8,000 from the original RM 30,000.

My take? Why must Papagomo "tunjuk Hero" to Syed Saddiq? If really wants to be a Hero, find a more worthy and apolitical cause.... Ada berani?

By the way,... MACC is closing in on PAS. Things doesn't look good for PAS when STAR reported MACC seized luxury cars and freezes bank accounts of several top PAS leaders. This may put a huge dent to UMNO-PAS co-operation in Semenyih. Is that why Hadi Awang is still a no show in Semenyih?

Will PAS maintain their UMNO-friendly face now that their backs are on the wall? You guys decide... Maybe what Tok Mat wish may not come true when 5th March comes about...

Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...

Of Najib's degradation....

Read carefully : It is not Najib's de-graduation but Najib's degradation...

Many out may be looking of de-graduation party for some and this is not surprising. There were too many stories floating around on the authenticity of diplomas and degrees, especially for the active politicians nowadays. Everuything is under the microscope.

No doubt Pakatan Harapan has its ups and downs and all eyes are on Semenyih this weekend. Whether PH can do a repeat story in Semenyih is yet to be seen. From the scene onsite, it is safe to say that the Orang Asal is still confuse. They are still thinking that the world has not change and on top of that there is a hint of disarray when one of their Tok Batins claimed there will be hampers and prizes in the upcoming Orang Asal karaoke...

Could it be an over-zealous JKOA official or could it be a planted opposition mole doing its routine with the speech?

Lately, ex-PM Najib is being active in trolling using BO55KU tagline. Maybe his PR consultant thinks it will endear Najib to the youngsters. Afterall the BO55KU tagline comes from the rempit culture. If that is the case, Najib will make KJ proud... finally Najib acknowledge Mat Rempits as an important element to his political survival.

Not only that, Najib is rebranding PH as "Cap Ayam" government during his campaign rounds in Semenyih by-election. In dismissing PH, Najib reiterated that “ordinary Malaysians” would not be able to enjoy the free toll implying the "toll free" timing are for ghosts, drunkards, LGBT.. Maybe Najib meant well but his statement hurt the feelings of those shift workers like police, nurses, doctors, traffic controllers and numerous others who sacrifice their normal sleeping time for descent living. Najib owes them an apology.

It is a pity to see ex-PM degraded to embrace Mat Rempit culture and sadder still when I senses those who had a good laugh at Najib's expense. Not only Najib discard his aristocracy approach, Najib chose the new approach to gain "popularity".

Question is : Is Najib trying to upstage the current UMNO captain or is he looking at repeating Tun M's feat and return as PM? Honestly, if Najib use his BO55KU to regain his premiership, Malaysia will be a laughing stock again... after the 1MDB debacle...

Me? BO55KU or not, let's go durian hunting in Semenyih...

Updated : Najib apologise for toll gaffe. You can read it here.

Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...

Of Mueller and AG TT...

I do not practise law but my favourites includes "The paper chase" and "Suits". Unfortunately this posting is not about Meghan Markle...

11th February 2019 is definitely not my day.... First, it is Black Monday with traffic back to normal in KL after a weeklong CNY celebration. Second and more importantly is the Appellate court's decision to grant stay on Najib's SRC trial.

This is not about technical and procedural changes but I view this as AG TT's mishandling of the case. It is important to note that AG TT's tenure is for 2 years and almost 6 months has passed and still there is no light at the end of the tunnel. It is not about who should do what but as AG, TT should knows very well and anticipate Defense strategy to stall and derail the trial.

This observation comes not from the many hours of watching legal dramas but a parallel scenario faced by US. There, the government appoints special prosecutor Robert Mueller. Mueller's approach is stealth-like and has netted amongst others Michael Cohen, Trump's lawyer. Even Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign Chairman was not spared.

Although Mueller is still investigating but these key players in Trump's team has been investigated and their plea bargain (for lesser charge) is making Trump sweat. That is how Robert Mueller approach the case.

Here, AG TT appoint special prosecutors like Sulaiman and Gopal Sri Ram to lead the prosecuting team. So far the fruits are not there.

This leads me wondering - is our legal system designed to keep the rich and powerful free from prosecution? If this is a case of Ahmad or Ah Chong or Ramasamy - the system will swallow them up and off to Sg Buloh they go. In this instance, the person is Najib and suddenly the clock is running superly duperly slow.

I has a talk this morning with a paralegal and she hinted that she agreed with me. In addition, she said that the legal fratenity will slap layman with potential "contempt of court" for "challenging decision. Maybe what she said is true... I don't know.

For one, the question is why the slow wheel of justice? I am not saying Najib is guilty nor do I vouch his innocense. What I am praying for is the legal system must be swift especially in cases where Malaysians has been said to be hoodwinked of Millions and Billions of Ringgit.

Is our British-based legal system notoriously slow? Or is it because our defense lawyers are super in finding legal loopholes? Or is it our prosecutors who are not thorough in handling cases?

If the evidence and documentations are not proper and not in order, then why can't judges throw the cases out and let them come when they are properly ready to charge? Why are we locked with too many mentions for a case? Even before the actual trial starts, there are 3 or 4 mentions and this takes time and this cost the courts valuable time.

Look at how US handles high profile cases. Once they identify the guilty party, it is boom, boom, boom trial time. If there is a plea bargain, it is also handled efficiently. In most cases, I rarely reads about high profile cases dragging for years...

Are we still leaning on archaic legal system? Or are we at the mercy of legal eagles who sell their service to the highest bidder?

I say...let's the games begin... and let the trial starts... why are we still delaying? No gut? Or is it no balls to ensure justice is done? Or is it because we have no judge Pao on our bench?

Till then...G'nite M'sia...wherever u are...
