1. Honestly, I look forward to pick up my daily free Malay Mail from the many kiosk stands around KL for a quick glance of what's happening around us before getting suck into solving sudoka. Many may link the free paper with famous blogger Rockybru, this scribe has no problems with that, as long as it provides worthy news...
2. Now, for this posting... Actually a week has passed us by and I sense there is no serious follow-up to MM's 8th March 2011 storyline "Ex-militants go to school" . Maybe, everyone else is intensely following sodomy II and Teoh's RCI. Cannot blame them for that but this MM's story should be Malaysia's top priority.
3. Amongst others, MM's story outlined :-
   • A group of 74 students, all former militant group members, will undergo undergraduate courses in Malaysia;
   • They will be sponsored by Nigerian government;
   • They will pursue their courses in Linton University College Malaysia in Mantin, Negeri Sembilan;
   • They were former members of The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND);
   • MEND members is said to be involved in sabotage, theft, property destruction, guerilla warfare and kidnapping;

4. What's troubling this scribe is :-
   • Malaysia's federal special task force (operations and counter terrorism) said police are not aware of these sudents' arrival to Malaysia;
   • Linton University College Malaysia declined comment and only said that a statement would be forthcoming (and up till now, there is no statement from this college);
   • Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana advised these students to get in contact with Nigerian consular officials in Kuala Lumpur immediately on their arrival (meaning that the Nigerian consular officials will not be on hand to personally "welcome" these students in KLIA);
     

5. Is Malaysia "easy meat" for foreign countries to send their "pardoned" terrorists to pursue their studies? No matter what the public's general perception on our police force, the police should be keeping a very close watch and on-guard on these "students". Anything can happen and with their "experience", it may pose clear and present danger with possible breach to our internal security.
6. Are we prepared to handle these foreigners who have "adequate" experience in sabotage, theft, kidnapping and guerilla warfare? What guarantee do Malaysia has that these students will not be a threat to Malaysia or its citizens?
7. Did Nigeria inform the Malaysia government of their "amnesty" program and their plans to send these students to Malaysia? Why Linton college, Mantin? Being a far-off town, it will be taxing for the local police to monitor the students movement. Is this choice of college made on purpose?
8. With no reference that the Nigerian consular officials are in KLIA to personally "receive" the students, how many really go to Mantin for study? Who can vouch that these students are in Mantin, poring over their books and not littering Kuala Lumpur? We have seen one too many foreigners breaking our laws and these 74 students are "experts" in doing what they can do.
9. My wishlist? Simple :-
   • Nigerian government to officially inform Malaysia government on their plans and program pertaining to these students;
   • Nigerian consulate office in Kuala Lumpur to provide the list of the students' name to Malaysia's police for monitoring;
   • Nigerian government undertaking that these students will not take up arms in Malaysia, or involve in training terrorist elements within Malaysian soil;
   • Linton University College Malaysia to ensure that these students attend all their classes and not using the college as a simple gateaway to do "other" business in Malaysia;
   • These students can pursue their studies in Nigeria, why choose Malaysia? And more important - are they academically qualified to pursue their tertiary education? Or is Linton college turning "deaf and blind", all for the sake of greenbacks?
     
10. Mind you that these 74 students are just pioneers, there are 290 students more waiting to be placed in colleges to pursue their studies. Since Nigeria is part of Commonwealth and since UK is the "unofficial" commonwealth leader, why didn't Nigeria send these initial batch of 74 students to UK? Or did UK rejected them?
11. It is time for the Malaysian government to focus on real issues which may pose (possible) clear and present danger. Enough of sodomy II when the evidences seems to point out legally that the prosecution's case is bombed. Enough of playing around Teoh's RCI when the hearings indicated that there is something seriously wrong with MACC's procedures and SOPs'. Enough is enough! Let's get back on track to safeguard our nation...
12. Just read another free newspaper The Sun on "Hot cargo seized from vessel in Port Klang". Not only ex-terrorists are here in Malaysia but equipments to make weapons of mass destruction (WMD) are making Malaysia their stop. This is scary as it picture Malaysia as ex-terrorist and WMD friendly. This scribe hopes that these recent recent developments will not put Malaysia in USA's bad light...
13. Let's get back in track. Off with personal vendetta or pinning your political enemy with false (dubious) accusation. Let the record stand and give the rakyat the chance to evaluate things... it's not that hard to do. We are too engrossed with internal "moves" to the extent that we are slacking in getting Malaysia protected from all (possible) clear and present danger from abroad.

Of 1M : BN is not ready, parliament is not accomodating...

1. Only this morning I have a word with 1 E.P.I.C. volunteer and true enough, we are not ready...yet.
2. Let's start from the top. That means BN. Not because of anything personal against BN but BN has been in the corridors of power together with its predecessor, Perikatan since 1957.

   By chance, BN Selangor held its convention in Shah Alam on 7th April 2010, few days before the important P94 by-election. Noh Omar in his keynote address alluded that non-Malays should be grateful that they were granted Malaysian citizenship. 47 years after the formation of Malaysia , Noh Omar still brings out this issue and with that 15 delegates from MCA Kapar walked out of the convention in protest. Simple question really - is Noh Omar's non-Malays means Jawa? Is he implying that Khir Toyo should be grateful of being considered a Malaysian citizen when his father is born across the straits?

   Do you guys still remember Noh Omar? His controversial speech in parliament back then cause sight diplomatic riff with China. He never seems to learn from mistakes, did he?
   

3. From thereon, let's make a brief tour detour to parliament. Remember how Anwar Ibrahim was referred to the Rights and Priviledge committee for bringing up APCO? He was accussed of misleading the house and thus referred to the committee.

   Then, what about Tajuddin Abdul Rahman? He claims that Penang DAP leaders frequented Hong Kong and Singapore to sell government secrets but he was spared from being referred to the Rights and Priviledge committee.
   

   Instead,Karpal Singh was suspended from parliament for 10 days. Not only that, Mahfudz was also referred to the Rights and Priviledge committee which was later withdrawn the day after.
   

   Just like that, the house speaker has effectively possibly "remove" 3 opposition votes by virtue of referring Anwar to the committee, suspending Karpal for 10 days and almost referring Mahfudz to the committee. Now, what happens if there is an important bill of say GST bill to be tabled. Will this effectively be passed as BN will surely scores a 2/3 majority by way of suspended opposition parliamentarians?

4. And do you think I will let PR off the hook? Sorry, no dice. PR parliamentarians are also at fault. Yes, Anwar did provide "documented" evidence to back up his claims. Whether the documents are genuine or hearsay is up to the people to judge.

   What I don't understand is - is there any need for Mahfudz to chant UMNO-APCO? If I want to have cheerleaders, I can easily go to Los Angeles and get the Laker girls here! What we want are responsible parliamentarians and not bunch of cheer-leading packs!

5. Where does that leads us? Are we really ready for 1Malaysia? If BN themselves are confused with the "pendatang" and "grateful" issue, then how can they live up to Najib's 1Malaysia's concept?

   Recalling back, Najib's 1Malaysia slogan is "rakyat didahulukan, prestasi diutamakan" which is translated as "people first, performance now". However, Selangor BN convention prove that for Noh Omar and his bunch of UMNOputras, it is "Melayu didahulukan, kedudukan diutamakan" which can be loosely translated as "Malay first, position now". It proves that UMNO has not change and is still living in their "UMNO is the world" syndrome!
   

   Our parliament is not ready. The parliamentarians are too busy accussing each other and thus spare less time in positively giving constructive and dynamic ideas to better the peoples' welfare. They are more adapted in turning the august house into an animal farm and the chairs have proven again and again that they are biased against the opposition MPs'. Is this the 1st world parliamentarian mentality that we are talking about? Honestly, I think the kids in kindergarten can discuss better and more matured than some of the parliamentarians!
   

   The opposition block? Obviously they are too engrossed in opposing everything that sometimes they forget that they are part of the team that should look into our well-being!

6. That said, should we encourage our young to register as voters? Surely, we have many ways to get the masses to register as voters but will that change the parliamentarian behaviour? Will that rid us of unnecessary "glamour seeking", "cheer-leading" rants? Will it guide our speakers from being overly biased?
7. Just try to understand why Najib is bringing along 2 independent MPs in the form of Zahrain and Zulkifli Noordin to be part of Malaysia-USA caucus. Why is Najib bringing along 2 independent MPs who are not party-driven to be part of the caucus? Are we leaving the caucus into the hands of 2 independent MPs' who are known to be individually motivated and who, on record, are fiercely championing the "Melayu didahulukan" and overtly strong stance on "Allah" issue?

   If that is Najib's line of thoughts, then I did not see his 1Malaysia concept live to celebrate a third annivesary and I am being modest when I said that.

8. Therefore, I believe we are not ready for 1Malaysia concept. We have not lived up to 1Malaysia concept. What we have now is just pure rhetorics...no action talk only. NATO!

   The way out from this quicksand is for us the rakyat to intelligently convey the message that we are looking for 1st world parliamentarians. The rest ie 2nd world and 3rd world parliamentarians can start queing up to collect their retirement cheques. We have to rid our parliament from those "rent-seekers" who gobble the highlights by accussing others without documented back-up and evidence, those who purposely create discord in parliaments and also to replace speakers with more fair and just people.
   

   If this is too hard to find,NC is just a call away and he will gladly share his list of preferred parliamentarians, regardless of their political affiliation...

4th July : Americans and us...small comparison

For now, the world looks up at US of A as the big brother, the self appointed Marshall, the leader of the free world. What they say goes, what they do is right. So, let's make a small comparison between US of A and Malaysia, from this scribe point of view...

1. 4th July is celebrated around the world. Will Smith acted in Independence day, the movie. And most probably, there will be lots and lots of fireworks to celebrate...
2. Of late, it become synonymous with free world and represents freedom. Leaders across the globe feels proud to be seen with the President of US of A. Even 1M PM6 is happy to report that he got a personal call from President Barrack Obama...
3. So, being the leading proponent of free world, why not take a peek of their history and compare them to our so-call meagre experience. Of course, the comparison is only limited to the basics and for that reasons, the following are the areas of interest :-
   • Independence and the methods to gain independence;
   • Years of independence;
   • Voting rights to women;
   • Voting rights to blacks;
   • equal opportunity;

4. Independence and the methods to gain independence

   For US of A, 4th July 1776 will always be remembered as the day where Declaration of Independence was adopted, declaring independence from the United Kingdom. Prior to this declaration, the colonist protested against the taxes levied by the British government where the Boston Tea Party incident happened in 1773.

   To make the story short, the 13 British colonies fight the American Revolutionary war against the British with the help of France and Spain. By 1781, the former colonies ended serious British efforts to find military solution to the American problems.

   For Malaysia, 31st August 1957 will be celebrated as the independence day. It is the day when the Union jack flag was lowered and a new nation is born. This is done through numerous negotiations between representatives of Malaya and the British government.

   16th September 1963 is seen as the date of the formation of Malaysia here Malaya was joined by Sabah, Sarawak and temporarily Singapore. All this is done without any single drop of blood nor do other nations come to our aid in getting the independence.
   

5. Years of independence

   US of A gain their independence in 1776 whilst Malaysia gain independence in 1957. That means US of A has achieved independence for the last 233 years whilst Malaysia tasted 52 years of independence.

   In terms of years, Malaysia's years of independence is only 22 % of US of A's independence.

6. Voting rights to women

   From historical accounts, the rights to vote for women differ from state to state. The first state to give voting rights for women is Wyoming in 1890 which is 114 years after American independence. However, the rights to vote for the whole of American women was only granted in 1920 through the Nineteenth Ammendment to the Constitution, 144 years after independence. And for those smokers out there, you might remember Virginia slim's tobacco ad "We've come a long way, baby"
   

   Compared to Malaysia,women have their voting rights since the nation's indepence ie in 1957. That means, for a young nation like Malaysia, the womens role in voting were recognise from day one.
   

7. Voting rights to Blacks

   Although the fifteenth ammendment to the American constitution ratified in 1870 prohibits each government in the United States from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's race, colour or previous condition of servitude" (i.e., slavery), the blacks were denied their voting rights through a series of rigorous voter qualification laws. Finally, the American congress passed the Voting Rights Act in 1965 to enable the Blacks to vote. This is 189 years after independence and 45 years after American women gain their rights to vote.

   Malaysia do not have this problem. All citizens were given their voting rights from day one.

8. Equal opportunity

   The civil rights act of 1991 made major changes in the federal laws against employment discrimination. That is enforced 215 years after independence. Do we have that in Malaysia?

9. From the above information, Malaysians should be grateful that we do not have to go through years of demanding your basic rights like how a major portion of the American citizens do.
10. In fact, it should acknowledged that Malaysians receive their basic rights almost immediately when they achieve independence. We do not have to go through the voters qualification laws nor do we have to wait for almost 200 years to be recognized as a legitimate voter.
    
11. 4th July will have different meaning for different people. Whilst Americans celebrate their independence day, some will gleefully celebrate their birthdays. This scribe looks at 4th July as a date to be thankful that Malaysians do not have to go through the process like those of Americans. When the nation is born, Malaysians were accorded the rights start from year one. That's the beauty of Malaysia.
12. However, through the passage of time, some of us start to lose track. Maybe the younger generations did not go through the difficulties of getting indepence and defending this young nation.
13. For some, blinded by the sparkles from other side of the fence, Malaysia needs to do more and to open up more. We tends to interpret the laws based on our limited knowledge. It does not help when our judiciary system are tainted with some "dubious" judgment, as seen by some quarters. Overall, Malaysia's judiciary is still doing fine but it needs more transparency as well as brave judges to uphold the scale of justice.
14. Our younger generation also called for better integration between the races. Are we that bad? Do the younger generations experience what their elders experienced? Have the younger generation mixed with each other as well as those of the past? Do the young share food as those of the past? Frankly, the earlier generation has better integration that those of present. The young ones relationship between the present days Ahmad, Wong and Krishnan is superficial at best. Wherelse the Ahmad, Wong and Krishnan of the 50's share the same bed and pillow, playing soccer together and hanging out in rivers together and share their happiness and sadness through thick and thin. That's what real integration is.
15. Of course, there will be hiccups here and there. That's when the people has to judge whether to ammend the constitution or to live with the hiccup.
    
16. Why is US of A different from other countries in the world? It is a land of opportunity, a land where the British and the French and the Spanish came to discover. It's vastness makes it impossible for any great nations of the past to colonise the whole country, thus British can muster only 13 colonies (which at that time is the biggest). And that is why Americans gains independence from the British which leads me to ask aloud - If America gains independence from the British, why isn't America a member of the Commonwealth? Is it because those who settled in America are free citizens and not convicts like those in the Southern hemisphere? (For those who do not know which country I am referring to, please brush up your history and consider this as an assignment :))
17. And for those who loves comparing, study how the natives of US of A were sidelined from development. Up to now, they are still sidelined living in dwindling reservations across the country. Do we have the same in Malaysia?
18. For those travellers, have you ever tried travelling across US of A? Can you feel the animosity if you passed through the great southern belt, just because you looks different? And see how they eye you if you have purdah clad women in your group. Really, this happens although it is not as bad as it used to be...But you can't blame them either, because of their experience or how the media painted others to be. Do you feel scared passing through Jinjang (if you are non-Chinese) or Kg Baru (if you are non-Malay) or Sentul (if you are non-Indians)? No, isn't it because you feel the comfort of being Malaysians?
19. Try understanding their American football. They claimed it's the biggest game in the world (because their world is only US of A). So now you know who is the "frog under the coconut shell".
20. So, what is this scribe trying to say? Simple, this land we called Malaysia with its shortcomings and system is still the place that we stay and proudly called home. We always look and think that the grass is greener on the other side, but is it really? And that is why "wherever we stand, that's where we uphold the sky" (hopefully it's correct Dimana bumi dipijak, disitu langit dijunjung).
21. One last note, Malaysia was born on September 1963, a full 2 years before Blacks of US of A gets the full rights to vote.

1 Malaysia : Diantara ucaptama, retorik, pentafsiran, perlaksanaan dan ...

1. Dalam ucaptama DS Najib Tun Razak senagai Perdana Menteri Malaysia, beliau antara lain menyebut

In this spirit, I would like to announce that the government has decided with immediate effect, to remove the temporary ban on TWO news publications, release 13 detainees from ISA detention, and conduct a comprehensive review of the Internal Security Act.

Ucapan itu memberi kiasan bahwa Kerajaan pimpinan DS Najib memandang tinggi terhadap kebebasan akhbar serta akan membuat kajian menyeluruh terhadao Akta Keselamatan Dalam Negeri.

2. Ucaptama itu diharap membayangkan halatuju kerajaan dibawah arhan DS Najib.

3. DS Najib memperkukuhkan ikrar beliau dalam pertemuan belia dengan rakyat diPekan, Pahang dengan slogan "1 Malaysia, Rakyat didahulukan, Prestasi diutamakan". Ikrar yang mencerminkan kepentingan rakyat akan diuatamakan.

4. Sebagai nakhoda baru juga, DS Najib telah memberi bayangan bahwa BN tidak akan bertanding dalam pilihanraya kecil Penang N12 Penanti. Sebaliknya, DS Najib meminta rakyat untuk bersama-sama dalam usaha kerajaan menangani masaalah ekonomi yang akan melanda negara. Itu pandangan nakhoda BN yang pada kebiasaannya akan diterima oleh semua parti komponen BN.

5. Itu adalah tafsiran awal berpandukan ucaptama dan retorik DS Najib. Namun perlaksanaannya nampak begitu berbedza...

6. Rais Yatim, Menteri Penerangan, menafikan wujudnya arahan jangan menyiarkan berita mengenai kemelut politik di Terengganu. Dalam masa yang sama, beliau akan bertemu dengan badan-badan penyiaran persendirian (Media prima) supaya memberi keutamaan kepada negara melebihi keperluan komersial. Dalam erti lain, Rais kini sudah mula menunjukkan kuku dalam mengawal berita. Adakah ini yang dikehendakki oleh DS Najib?

7. Begitu juga dengan tindakan Media Prima untuk "mengelapkan" semua berita mengenai model Mongolia yang mengaitkan Razak Baginda, Najib, Rosmah. Adakah ini merupakan permulaan "news blackout" besar-besaran Media Prima dan RTM?

8. Menyentuh Akta Keselamatan Dalam Negeri, walaupun 13 orang tahanan telah dibebaskan pada 3hb April 2009, dilapurkan juga kerajaan Malaysia telah menahan 3 dibawah Akta tersebut pada bulan March 2009.

9. Lapuran awal menyatakan ketiga-tiga tahanan tersebut ditahan kerana disyakki terbabit dengan Jemaah Islam (JI). Malangnya, penanhanan ketiga-tiga orang ini tidah dihebahkan dalam mana-mana media massa. Walaupun DS Najib berikrar untuk mengkaji Akta Keselamatan Dalam Negeri, tindak tanduk pihak berkuasa tidak menjuruskan terhadap kelonggaran tindakan kerajaan. Mungkin ketiga-tiga yang ditahan merbahaya kepada keselamatan umum, tetapi apakah kesalahan mereka yang sebenar? Sekurang-kurangnya pihak berkuasa memberi rentetan kesalahan mereka supaya rakyat boleh menilai ketelusan kerajaan dibawah kepimpinan DS Najib. Barang diimgat, Kementerian Dalam Negeri adalah dibawah seliaan Hishamuddein Hussein, sepupu DS Najib, bekas Menteri Pelajaran.

10. Sekiranya Hishamuddein Hussein tidak dapat memberi gambaran kesalahan tahanan-tahanan baru ini, ia mungkin mengambarkan kegagalan DS Najib sebagai nakhoda kerajaan baru. Kalau sepupu beliau sendiri tidak mendengar kata, apatah lagi barisan kepimpinan lain.

11. Begitu juga dengan ura-ura DS Najib supaya BN tidak bertanding diPenang N12 Penanti. Koh Tsu Koon dari Gerakan bersetuju dengan pendapat DS Najib manakala Samy Vellu pula tidak bersetuju. Alasan Samy Vellu ialah demi memelihara "integriti, prestij dan imej" BN. Samy masih gagal memahami poergerakan rakyat menolak beliau dalam tahun 2008 dan masih ingin menarik BN terjerumus kedalam "quicksand" yang merbahaya.

12. Mahathir Mohamed pula menyarankan BN tidak patut mengaku kalah di Penang N12. Sebenarnya Penang N12 bukanlah kayu pengukur yang sebenar. Seandainya BN tidak bertanding di Penang N12, kesannya tidak mendalam. Mahathir dan Samy perlu berfikiran lebih jauh iaitu tentang kesejahteraan rakyat dan tidak membabitkan BN dalam polemik politik yang berterusan. Penang N12 ialah perangkap politik Anwar Ibrahim. DS Najib perlu bijak bertindak untuk memilih dimana tempat untuk bertanding. Pilihanraya kecil Penang N12 tidak membawa apa-apa signifikan kepada BN. Biarlah Anwar terjun dengan labu-labunya di Penang N12.

13. Dalam masa kurang sebulan DS Najib memimpin Malaysia, sudah semakin jelas bahwa dalam barisan kabinet pilihan beliau ada individu-individu yang mentafsir retorik DS Najib dengan cara mereka tersendiri. Dan cara mereka tidak selari dengan kehendak DS Najib. Mungkin DS Najib perlu lebih bertegas dengan mereka ini, apatah lagi ada diantara mereka gagal dalam pertandingan PAU yang lalu tetapi masih diberi peluang dan ruang didalam kabinet DS Najib.

14. Dari segi politik, DS Najib perlu mengimbangi pendapat yang berbedza dari Samy Vellu, seorang pemimpin yang gagal untuk menarik sokongan kaum India kepada BN. Mahathir Mohamed akan terus memberi pendapat yang agak berbedza dengan DS Najib. DS Najib harus bertegas didalam isu-isu pokok supaya kepimpinan beliau tidak dilihat goyah dan "flip flop" sebagaimana era Tun AAB dulu.

15. Ucaptama dan retorik DS Najib harus diikuti dengan penafsiran dan perlaksanaan yang selari. Kegagalan barisan kabinet dan parti komponen untuk mengikut halatuju yang dirangka DS Najib akan membawa akibat yang buruk dan memungkinkan BN berkubur dalam GE 13. Mungkinkah DS Najib dalam keadaan "hajat dihati nak peluk gunung, apakan daya tangan tak sampai"?

Penang N12 : No mas, no mas...

Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin has tendered his resignation letter. The Penang speaker affirmed the authenticity of Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin's resignation letter, further backed and strengthened by statutory declaration. The EC will meet on 20th March and its Chairman will make an announcement on 24th April 2009 for the by-election date if the vacancy occurred.

It's time to say "no mas, no mas". This is not the Leonard-Duran boxing match that we are talking about, We are saying no mas (no more) to the unnecessary by-elections. No doubt by-elections are necessary, as provided by law, normally either through deaths or resignations. However, it has become a fashionable trend to resign from public office. Out of the 5 by-elections held within the past year, 2 is through resignation. Another 3 resignations, all in Perak, were not recognised by EC and the decision was upheld by the Judiciary system.

EC is now saying that the by-elections is costing a lot of money to the Government. Unnecessary spending and the EC said that they can only advise the political parties into ways to look into ways to stop the resignations.

1 Malaysia PM, Najib Tun Razak, says tthat this is not the time for another by-election. He claimed that this is just another poltical game.

For Joe Public, it is another carnival of sorts. In short, it is getting into the nerves of Malaysians, regardless of political standing. For the record, the 2 by-election forced by resignation of elected representatives are from PKR. It seems that PKR is unable to hold its elected reps together for reasons best known and privy to Anwar Ibrahim.

The multimillion dollar question is, Do we need this by election? Will it tip the scale, or change the Government, be it the tate or the Federal government? The answer is no and these are the reasons...

1. 1 Malaysia's PM, Najib Tun Razak, has said that this is not the time for by-election. And if Najib is truly BN supremo then it is best for BN to sit out this by-election. Let PKR wins it uncontested or face a motley bunch of independents. Nothing is lost if BN sit out the by-election. Nothing significant eitherif BN wins Penang N12.

2. Even if BN contested Penang N12 and win, it does not mean BN will rule Penang. The majority of PR in the state seats are overwhelming.

3. If PKR win Penang N12 uncontested, it does not mean PKR is gaining strength. It may send a strong signal to Anwar that Joe Public is getting tired, fed up with his antics of politicing everything under the sky.

4. It is unnecessary for EC to spend money in running the by-election which includes EC workers, logistics etc.

5. Police will be unnecessarily called to keep law and order in Penang N12. The police's main aim is to keep harmony and catch criminals so let them do what they do best.

6. DAP and PAS will need to seriously sit down with Anwar informing him to avoid pushing for by-elections in order to weed out PKR's inefficient reps. Anwar should know better than to hold Joe public ransom.

The ball is at Anwar's feet. And he better learn to play as a team player and not as an individual whose ego is bigger than his head...

1Malaysia TPM : What is said, what it means, what is understood...

1 Malaysia's TPM was interviewed by Mingguan Malaysia and he came out a failure! But then again, being a politician he will always be right and the media will always be wrong for misquoting him. Is this what our 1 Malaysia PM meant by "public come first, performance oriented" cabinet?

Why is Lim Kit Siang crying fault? Key Chinese dailies published Muhyiddin’s comments in their frontpage headlines such as ‘Muhyiddin – Chinese ungrateful to BN’ (Sin Chew Daily), ‘Chinese fooled Barisan Nasional. Muhyiddin – Get benefits but do not vote in support” (Nanyang Siang Pau) and ‘BN feels tricked. Muhyiddin - Satisfy Chinese demands, still no support’ (China Press) and yet Muhyiddin claims that he is misquoted. If that is so, something must be seriously wrong with our education system ie Chinese based editors are collectively not well versed in Bahasa Malaysia. Is this true?

Amongst others, Mingguan Malaysia quoted Muhyiddin saying

Ini yang mungkin menyebabkan sukar BN mendapat sokongan walaupun kita fikir bila mereka hendak sekolah Cina dibantu, kita bantu, sepatutnya mereka membalas budi. (loosely translanted " This may be the reason why BN has difficulty to get the support although we think that when they want Chinese schools needs support, we support them, by right they (the Chinese) should repay the kindness)

Has Muhyiddin failed to realise that providing financial aids to schools are part and parcel of the Government's responsibility? Afterall, the aid and support poured is not BN's monies but taken from the rakyat and the Government's coffers.

In response to the Chinese dailies, Muhyiddin remarked

"If you (the journalists) don't understand Bahasa, I can send you to school to understand it."

Maybe it is high time for Najib to make decision, sending all his cabinet members, including his DPM, back to Bahasa Malaysia classes. If they cannot speak clearly, at least teach them how to conduct interviews without hurting others or as Najib says "ethnic silos".

Since Muhyiddin is both the DPM and the Education Minister, it will be easy for Muhyiddin to find good tutors, don't you think so? By the way, what will our super Tsu Koon do since he is in charge of racial harmony?

It has been less than 2 weeks since the cabinet members took their oath of office, yet 1 Malaysia's no 2 man fails miserably. So when will the KPIs' be announced so that the rakyat can audit the ministers?
