Husnuzhon... what's wrong with that?

Husnuzhon is positive thinking or simply put "bersangka baik". There is always two sides to a coin (unless you have a double sided coin)!

Husnuzhon or thereabout (in terms of spelling). That's the approach to be taken by all quarters if we were to avoid the embarrassing tit for tat statements. I mean just look at the following issues dogging our consciousness :-

1. Rais "I change my mode" Yatim refuted allegations, including of rape, made against him by bloggers and political parties.
   Funny thing about this whole issue is Rais let it spin out of control for almost 10 days before refuting the allegation. And even then, it is so conspicuously close to 1M PM6's first 2011 cabinet meeting. Did he refuted the allegation so that it is not brought up during the cabinet meeting? Does anybody instructed him to refute the allegations?
   The puzzling part is why did our PHd minister blame the bloggers? The first thing that the bloggers ask is for the minister (and they never named Rais, during the first few days) and the government to seriously look into the allegations, investigate and come out clean. The political parties jump into the bandwagon at a much later stage and even that, they do it to get our police to investigate the report from one so-called NGO.
   So, is there any need for Rais to jump? Or is his hair getting messed up, just like the days when a political murder case hit the news many many years back? Back then, there were talks of a certain NS political figure coming to work in slippers...hhhmmm I wonder if that's true!

2. Najib "1MPM6" announced RCI to probe violations on TBH's human rights. What? Najib promised to set up up RCI on 17th July 2009 and now almost 18 months later, Najib only manage to come up with the RCI's terms of reference!
   18 months has passed and the coroner's "open verdict" may not be acceptable to many but at least it rules out suicide. So, what does that mean? We do not have a time machine to visit that fateful day when TBH met his Maker, and the police has so far reach dead ends in solving the mysteries behind his unexpected demise.
   Yet Najib choose to limit the TOR to human rights violation. Why? If that is his intention, does he really needs the coroner's verdict before setting up the much-awaited RCI? As far as this scribe is concerned, there is no necessity for Najib to wait 18 months as the coroner's TOR and the proposed RCI's TOR are worlds apart! Unless, this is another carefully staged act by Najib.
   
   
3. The recent appointment of the new Selangor State Secretary certainly is certainly extraordinary! Khalid (as Selangor MB) claimed that he did not recommend Khusrin, whilst Sidek (as KSN) claimed that he notified the state government on their recommendation and short-listed candidate. The palace came out claiming the palace has no say in Khusrin's appointment, apart from consenting the appointment. So - Who's the Boss?
   Khalid is currently Selangor's CEO. By that virtue alone, he should be the right person to make the final recommendation. Unless, Ramli (the recently retired SS and newly-appointed to Selangor's Royal Council member) by-pass Khalid and in the process rewarded with the powerful council member seat.
   Based on the belief that more clout should be given to the Sultan and the state government in matters pertaining to the appointment of Selangor state Secretary, there will be a special Selangor legislative assembly to ammend the state constitution this coming 24th January 2011. Now, why 24th January 2011? Is this going to be a political weapon to be launch during the up and coming Tenang by election scheduled to be held on 30th January 2011?
   
   

The list can goes on and on but there must be a stop to it. That's why there is a need husnuzhon. Husnuzhon is positive thinking or simply put "bersangka baik". There is always two sides to a coin (unless you have a double sided coin)!

Maybe Rais did not do it regardless of possible "new" developments. If he did not do it, then Rais should be demanding for the NGO to retract their statement and publicly apologise to him. This is more-so critical when the "accusation" may jeorpadise our good relationship with our ASEAN neighbour. Maybe it is not plausible for a "learned PHd" like Rais to stoop that low as he has better access to many other much more prettier SYT as he is in directly in charge of local-breed artistes...A little bit of husnuzhon should be applicable here, don't you think so?

The same goes for Najib and TBH. Maybe Najib is genuinely concern with the accusations that touches on MACC's integrity. That's why after a long and hard 18 months, Najib finally decided to set up a RCI whose members are still unknown. It may takes 1MPM6 Najib another 18 months to come up with the names of those who will sit on RCI's board...Maybe the events leading to TBH's untimely death will never be known but one thing is for sure, it will never match Who actually killed JFK...Husnuzhon, my friends husnuzhon...Najib is doing his 1M best to determine that there is no human rights abuse when it comes to TBH...and Najib is not leaving any stones untouched to get to the bottom of it (and that is why Najib hibernated for 18 months to come out with the RCI decision)!

Is it possible for Selangor State Secretary appointment is caused by pure miscommunication? Sidek send a letter to Selangor state government through (melalui) Selangor State Secretary...and he did not forward it to Khalid. Instead, he comes out with the list of candidates and being a strong "ahli sunnah wal al jamaah", he commended Khusrin for JAIS raid on "shiah" and rewarded him with the conveted post? As for Khalid, he is genuinely working on legalising more clout for the Sultan and has nothing to do at all with the upcoming Tenang election...Husnuzhon, husnuzhon...what is done and happen in Selangor is for the benefit of the people and shoring up support for HRH. No hidden agenda...if everyone look at it husnuzhonly...

Federalising Selangor...

I know, I know - there is no such word as federalising...but in this strange time, everything is possible. If one can abuse the standing orders and protocols, so what is there to hype about minor grammatical mistake. Afterall, it might be accepted as a word one day...

The word is not important but what's transpiring in Selangor is...and will affect our future...

1. The federal-backed appointment of Khusrin Munawi as Selangor State Secretary is going to be another interesting chapter in Malaysian politics. It may not be the first controversy but enough to verify that Bukit Kayangan hands are tied as the Royal house claim that they are powerless in this issue.
2. Khalid reportedly briefed the press that the Sultan said that the Sultan has no power to accept or to reject an appointment by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
3. Let's look at the issue objectively or at least try to be objective in analysing the scenario. Most states in Malaysia have three top public servants as nominated EXCO members. They are the State Secretary, the State Financial Officer and the state legal officer.
4. Most states also have their own state Public Service Commission (PSC) who is responsible in appointing state officers. As in the case of Selangor, that may covers the various state departments like MAIS, JAIS, local authorities etc. The state PSC is also responsible in vetting suitable candidates for the post of State Secretary, State legal officer and state Financial Officer.
5. Generally speaking, the federal administration (that is the KSN) normally seconded their own legal officers as state Legal Officer to advise the state on legal matters. The federal administration may be requested to nominate a few suitable candidates from their vast pool of senior officers for the post of State Secretary and state Financial officer if and only if requested by the state PSC.
6. The state PSC will normally recommend the candidate to the Sultan after getting the approval from the MB. The Sultan's consent is purely academic as these three nominated EXCO members have to work closely with MB and implementing the policies approved by the state government.
7. In terms of seniority, the State Secretary is number 1 state public servant, followed by the state Financial Officer (SFO) and then the state Director of Land and Mines (PTG). As the state Legal Officer is normally seconded from the federal staff, they are not considered for the State Secretary post. By that convention, it is also a normal practise for the State Financial Officer to take over the post of the State Secretary when the latter retires.
   
8. With that in mind, these questions need to be answered :-
   • Who seek the audience in Bukit Kayangan to recommend Khusrin as the State Secretary? Is he empowered to do the recommendation? Is he from the Selangor Public Service Commission?;
   • Did this person discuss and vetted the list together with Khalid, as Selangor MB or is he taking matters into his own hands?;
   • Why isn't the state Financial Officer not recommended for the state Secretary post? Is he not senior enough for the post?;
   • Is Khusrin's seniority at par (or better) than the current state financial officer and other senior officers in Selangor state administration? If he is not, that on what criteria is he appointed to the post?;
   • Khusrin's past appointment includes being a special officer to Khir Tpyo (when he was Selangor MB). This means that Khusrin is "politically-inclined" towards the party that Khir Toyo represents. Will this not jeorpadise the "Private & Confidential" information normally discussed during weekly EXCO meetings?; Who will give the assurance that Khusrin will not "leak" these vital information to third parties?;
     

9. Maybe, the state Secretary "mix-up" is due to Khir Toyo's precedence. It is said that Khir Toyo was responsible for the current mess because Khir's administration left the appointment of the then State Secretary to the KSN. If that is true, then 2 wrongs does not make it right and it is of utmost importance for Selangor to get it all right before this "mix-up" spread t other states, particularly in PR-led states.
10. Selangor is one of the richest state in Malaysia and it is a gold-mine to many. It is not impossible for Najib to use KSN as his instruments to plant his own man as Selangor State Secretary, someone who can throw spanner to PR-led state government.
11. However, it is best for Najib to let the states to run their own administration on their own terms. Putting Khusrin in Selangor hot seat may be legally correct but definitely ethically wrong. Or has Najib forgotten that just because his aim is to get Selangor at all cost. Bear in mind that Najib is Selangor's UMNO chief and wresting Selangor from PR is his main objective.
12. All said and done, federalising Selangor is not the best solution for all parties concern. Khusrin may be "politically-inclined" but he may also be a sacrificial pawn. That is normal for BN - anything goes, as long as they get what they wanted.
13. The better solution for Selangor "mix -up still lies in Bukit Kayangan. The occupant can always call Putrajaya and withold the swearing-in ceremony. Next, he can instructed the MB and the state PSC to peruse through the recommendation again and get the best person for the job with the right credentials and seniority.
14. It's all in the heart. Is Bukit Kayangan willing with both Khalid and KSN co-operating. If not, then let 2011 witness the federalisation of Selangor...
15. Oh by the way, it will be Selangor footing Khusrin's salary and not the federal government. So by logic, you come into my house, please show some respect as you will be using my belongings...the same goes for Federal government (by way of KSN's actions) when dealing with Selangor state secretary issue...

Of insolence: Khalid's style...

For Khalid, Sorry seems to be the hardest words...

1. Insolence! That's the fitting word for Khalid Ibrahim if what Malay Mail reported is true. How can Khalid react in such a manner? Tsk tsk sometimes they never learn, do they?
2. In this latest twist regarding PR's royal snub towards the Queen, Khalid Ibrahim, the current MB of Selangor and former Guthrie CEO came up with more ridiculous arguments :-
   • Khalid allege that the Queen came on her personal capacity.
     Hello! Wasn't it reported that the event promoter extended an invitation letter to Istana Negara? Wasn't it recorded that the event promoter briefed the organising committee of the Queen's concent to grace the event? Wasn't it reported that the protocol officer from Istana Negara attended a meeting with the organising committee?
     Does that sound like personal capacity to you?
     
     
   • Khalid claimed that the "issue was understood by all parties concerned and considered settled and closed"
     Another attempt to spin stories? Who understood the issue? The EXCO? Of course they understood the issue because most of them are absent from the event. How did Khalid arrived to his conclusion that the issue is considered closed and settled? Has Khalid Ibrahim had an audience with the Queen? If Khalid has not, then surely Khalid is only presenting his side of the story.
     Is that acceptable to the rest of us?
     
     
   • Khalid continued to ramble that "It's like the Queen was invited to someone's house in Selangor"
     Childish reasoning! This is the state's event and when the Queen comes calling, Khalid and his hordes of EXCOs should be there as hosts . Simple as that. Following Khalid's reasoning, it's like the Queen visited a house in Selangor on invitation and find the occupants not around. Is that proper of the occupants to be away when they know fairly well that the Queen is coming?
     Do you do that to your guest? Maybe you don't but Khalid did. He and his hordes of EXCOs!
     
     
   • Khalid also denied the Selangor Sultan was unaware of the invitation to the Queen.
     Mind-bongling! Khalid goes the extra mile to drag HRH Sultan into his problems. Khalid, do you know what you are talking about? First, reports said HRH Sultan was not informed, now Khalid claimed that HRH was aware of the invitation to the Queen? Is Khalid implying something here?
     Khalid, you are already in quicksand, don't make it worse!
     
     

3. Before it has been suggested that PR needs to learn a thing or two about protocol. Now it is crystal clear that PR know nuts about protocol. They have to start from zero.
   
4. PR should understand that they are riding high because the rakyat are with them. Going against the set protocol is pure insolence Does Khalid think he can survive the next three years without the tacit support of HRH Sultan? Does Khalid think that he can just set the Queen aside?
5. If that is what Khalid is thinking and if that line of thought is in line with those of Anwar, Lim KS and Hadi Awang, then it seems that PR's disrespect against the Royal house is similar to BN. So, are they both pushing for republic of Malaysia?
6. It is time for the rakyat to evaluate Khalid Ibrahim and his band of EXCOs'. Just because he represents PR in Selangor does not convert him into an angel. Just by becoming an elected representative from PR does not means that one is mistake-free.
7. Khalid Ibrahim needs to take a hard look on how he handle the sand issue, how he pooh-poohed the water crisis issue, how his EXCO is tangled with letters of support issue. Being smart does not equally means a good leader.
8. What is wrong for Khalid to apologise to both the Queen and HRH Sultan Selangor? Or is Khalid too egoistic to apologise?
   Does a tiger lose its stripes? Apakah hilang bisa ular kalau menyusur dibawah akar? It will boost Khalid's image if he apologise but if he stays true to his decision that everything is resolved, then Khalid is burning his own clothes. As simple as that!
   For Khalid, Sorry seems to be the hardest words...
   
   
9. Put it this way. The Queen may not mind the way Khalid treat her but others do mind. If Khalid is still sticking to his decision that no apology is necessary, then clearly Khalid is rubbing salt to the wounds. Is that what Khalid wants? Is that what the PR leadership wants?
10. PR may be the talk of the town and the future but with this arrogance and insolence, PR will lose support soon. Especially from the Royalist urban and rural Malays followed by Chinese, Indians, Orang Asli and the rest.
11. If that is what PR wants, so be it. All due to Khalid's insolence! All due to Khalid's reluctance to apologise.
12. Now, if HRH Sultans acts tough and seems to side BN, don't blame them but thank Khalid Ibrahim for his actions... maybe the tide is turning against PR. Don't say that PR is not forewarned...

Of shame and disgrace : BN and PR are alike...

1. Shameful! TV3's Berita Utama carried the news of 20 illegal immigrants escaping from Immigration's holding depot in KLIA. Mind you that this is not the first time it happened, the first "Great Escape" happened on 27th March 2010 when 16 illegal immigrants cut through two security grilles to open two gates at the depot.
2. Our Number two's response? Both he and Hishamuddin formed a committee to investigate the incident. As usual, both number two and Hishamuddin outlined the following actions and views :-
   • Suspend twenty immigration officers in charge of the detention centre;
   • "Harsh" actions to be taken including "change" of home ministry Secretary general and immigration director general (if it was due to "inside job" or work of "syndicate");
   • Officers failed to carry out their duties with high level of integrity and commitment;
   • Any weakness to be reported to Hishamuddin;
   • Viewed human trafficking seriously as this could be linked to drug trafficking and terrorism activities;
     

3. Will that be another lip service from number two and Hishamuddin? Everytime someone breaks out from our detention centres, a committee is formed. Everytime there is project fiasco, a committee is formed.
   Committee, committee. When will the real action begins? It is embarrassing to hear time and time again of drug bust worth millions involving foreign nationals. What do we do about it? In one case, these foreign national smugglers can even afford to rent a RM 13000 house!

4. Hishamuddin mentioned of possible "removal" of both the home ministry's secretary general and the immigration director general. Why not go for that extra one mile, Hishamuddin? Why not "remove" the home minister as well for a leader is the reflection of his followers aka officers!
   Why it happened in Malaysia? Is Malaysia perceived as a "semua boleh" country? Heck! Explain how these 20 illegal immigrants can make their way out of KLIA? If they are in KL now, why are they not detected?

5. If Hishamuddin can mobilise FRU to manhandle those "No to ISA" activists, then why can't he place these burly FRUs' to man the immigration depot? Is Hishamuddin another "jaguh kampung" who crows hard only at his own kind?
   
6. Should the immigration be the sole agency to take the blame? To be fair to them, number two and Hishamuddin should take into account the following :-
   • How many illegal immigrants were there in the holding depot? What is the capacity of the holding depot? Is it overcrowded?;
   • What is the average holding period for the immigrants? How long does it take to get the papers done? How long does it take to deport them?;
   • What is the officer:immigrant ratio? What about the officers working facility? Sufficient? Adequate?;
   • Are the officers well-equipped and well trained? What is their Standard Operating Procedure?;
   • Is the facility well-lighted? Are CCTVs' installed at strategic locations? Are the gates electrically operated or manually opened?;
   • Is the breakout a "salient" message to expedite the deportation process?;
     

7. It is easy for Hishamuddin to pass the responsibility to his Secretary general and director general, but in reality, Hishamuddin is the one who should bear the responsibilities. Afterall, is he not the minister in charge?

   Anybody want to bet that both the secretary general and the director general will do a "Nik Ali" on Hishamuddin?

8. Disgraceful! That may not be the best description but for now that word will do...
   It has been almost a month and Malay Mail broke the news yesterday on Khalid Ibrahim and gang's royal snub. Not just any royalty but Permaisuri Agung herself!

9. It all began during the Selangor tourism-organised International Islamic Song Festival. The Queen had confirmed that she will attend the event in mid-June , almost 1 month before the festival.
   And yet, it is reported that :-
   • Khalid Ibrahim, Selangor's state executive councillors, elected representatives, senior civil servants failed to attend the function;
   • Selangor government failed to inform HRH Sultan Selangor of the Queen's attendance in Shah Alam;
   • the Federal government was left out of the invitation list;
   • Only 200 attended the function held in a 5000 capacity Melawati indoor stadium;

10. The witchhunt has begun (again) in Selangor. Khalid, as number two and Hishamuddin, started an investigation on the issue.
    Amongst others, PR-led Selangor's immediate actions were :-
    • Khalid apologise to HRH Sultan Selangor;
    • Instructed Eli Wong to seek audience with the Queen and apologise for the "snub";
    • Issued show cause letter to Selangor Tourism and promoter O2TW for the fiasco;

11. Are the actions taken by Khalid enough? Consider these :-
    • Who send the official invitation letter to Istana Negara? Is it Selangor tourism or is it the promoter O2TW?. If it is O2TW, do they copied the letter to Selangor state government?;
    • When the protocol officer from Istana Negara requested for a list of dignitaries who will accompany the Queen, why was it not provided?;
    • Did Selangor Tourism briefed both Eli Wong and Khalid on Istana Negara's request?;
    • Is this the PR's way in receiving the Queen (and for that matter the royalty)?
      

12. Clearly Khalid Ibrahim and his whole gang of EXCOs' lineup need to learn a thing or two about protocol. Selangor, being one of the foremost state in Malaysia should set a good example.
    However, Khalid failed miserably in that. Frankly, Khalid with years of experience in corporate world should be well aware of protocol. IfKhalid could not handle this simple protocol issue, then it is time for him to be stripped of his Tan Sri-ship. Serious! There is no place in Tan Sri list for a person who could not observe protocol.
    
    
13. Not only that, PR has failed in their first "get to know your Royalty" session! If PR could not handle the Queen, then how can PR handle the King (if and when they take over the Federal government)? Hypothetically speaking, what will happen if the King rejected PR to lead the government after GE 13 due to lack of protocol?
    
    This is a matter of misplaced priorities. Everybody expect the other to take the lead and in the end it became a headless and leaderless affair. Khalid Ibrahim should be there as he should place the Queen's presence above his other responsibilities. The same goes to the rest of the EXCOs, elected representatives and senior government official. Obviously, Khalid is placing his "interest" on soccer above the Queen's presence.
    
    
14. At Federal level, Malaysia looked foolish with illegal immigrants escape from immigration holding depots. In Selangor, they blundered during the Queen's visit. One by BN, the other by PR. Either way, both are in embarrassing predicaments!
    
    Are we goofy, inefficient, nonchalant or what? Or are our leaders just plain clowns with their feet too big for their shoes?

1 Selangor : PR under the spotlight...

If the scale is tipping against BN's favour with the numerous exposures on mismanagements involving millions and billions of ringgit in projects such as that of Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ), elevated highway MRR2, stadium Sultan Mizan, things are not much brighter for Pakatan Rakyat too.

In Selangor, there are allegations that the present state government is dispensing the waste management contracts on a 40-30-30 ratio of PKR-DAP-PAS. The allegation first surfaced out when Petaling Jaya councillor highlights the dubious dealings involving Alam Flora and the state government. The councillor streamlined the claim when he said that 70 % of Alam Flora contracts are handled by contractors picked by the state government.

Responding to the allegation, MB Khalid Ibrahim said an audit committee will be set up to ensure that alam flora's contracts are awarded to "genuine operators".

So what does this allegation revealed? Simply put, the allegation shows that the rakyat is still being played out by the politicians. And this time by Pakatan Rakyat coalition of PKR, DAP and PAS. Whether the allegation is true or not is immaterial. The allegation is made by Pakatan Rakyat's appointed councillor. In fact he is a registered member of one of the Pakatan's parties. If this allegation is made by state opposition, then we can rubbish it down, as they can be made with bad intentions.

The question now is why the need for the formation of audit committee? Are we creating a watchdog to look after another watchdog? Is Khalid acknowledging that there is some dubious dealings going on in Alam Flora? If Pakatan Rakyat is practising dubious dealings, then who can the rakyat turn too? If the allegations are true, then the rakyats are sandwiched between hungry wolves and crocodiles. What makes it worse is Pakatan Rakyat swept into power because they promised clean, fair and transparent government. Maybe they are sticking to their slogans but apparently there are those in Pakatan Rakyat who relies on legally correct manouvres without giving a hoot on moral rights. If this is true, then there is no difference between Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional. Both with bad apples in their bushels. It is a matter of which bushels has more bad apples.

Another question is, if this can happen in Selangor, what guarantees do we as the rakyat has that the same is not happening in Kedah, Penang, Perak, Kelantan? Pakatan Rakyat has more than enough ample time to address issues. It has been more than 1 year since March 2008. This is time for delivery and Pakatan Rakyat better start delivering now. Pakatan Rakyat has no more excuses. Before, Pakatan Rakyat claimes that they are not in power to govern the states so they could not do much and promise heaven and earth. Now that Pakatan Rakyat is in power in those 5 states, they have no more excuses.

If Pakatan Rakyat can generate into dubious dealings barely a year after gaining control of Selangor, imagine what they will do if they are given the chance to govern the state for the next 50 years. I shudder at the thoughts...

However, we still need more courageous souls as that of the councillors to come forward and expose Pakatan's misdeeds. It is not because we hate Pakatan but because we care for the rakyat. We have placed our trust to Pakatan to run the state and Pakatan must return out trust with good governance, not by talks only but by actions and deeds.

Anwar may be still smiling as he managed to bag prize catch Zaid Ibrahim, but smiles alone will not last long and will not go far. Anwar must steer Pakatan to deliver, deliver and deliver...Can he do that or will he be court tied in fighting his sodomy trial which is coming up for hearing in July 2009.

Pakatan may still be governing Selangor but the excess baggage has started to pile up. Pakatan Rakyat needs to dispense and rid the baggage now...Can they? would they?

1 Selangor's PR : 1 for you, 1 for me...that's what you see

Khir suspended for 12 months

Updated news : LKS says Selangor state assembly should not suspend Khir. - Malaysian insider (23rd May 2009)

1. PR claims that they serve the people. Is suspension one of them?

2. Malaysiakini reported that former MB Khir Toyo was slapped with one year suspension from the house. The Selangor assembly's powerful rights and privileges committee suspended Khir Toyo for his absence from Balqis enquiry and for criticising SELCAT in his blog.

3. Now, when is the effective date of the suspension? Will it be from 20th May 2009 or will it take effect after his suspension is discussed during the assembly sitting scheduled in July 2009? And if it will take effect from July, isn't the rights and privilege committee jumping the gun?

4. Is this tit for tat? BN had suspended Teng Chang Kim for 30 months in 2005 when he was the state assemblyman. Back then, Teng threw the standing order into the waste paper basket. Now that Teng is the current chairman of the assembly’s Rights and Privileges Committee, is he dishing out his "revenge"?

5. Think about it. Which of the wrongdoing is more serious, throwing the standing order or failing to attend the Balqis enquiry? I would say that throwing the standing order is more serious offence. Here, rightly or wrongly, Teng had insulted the assembly when he threw the standing order into the waste paper basket.

6. PR has govern Selangor since March 2008. They have Selangor Select Committee on Competence, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) for better governance. The problem is,has Selcat achieved what it is suppose to do? Is it an open license for witchhunts? Is it only meant for past mistakes and misuse? What about present abuse of power? 7. Khalid's Selangor has time and time again is at odds with BN especially with Khir Toyo. Is it turning into a personal vendetta? After Khalid, now its Teng's turn to turn the heat on Khir. After them, who else is in line?

8. PR should do some soul searching and prove that they are not on specific witchhunt against Khir. PR, as Selangor's government of the day, can do much better than that. Continual victimising Khir is not good to PR.

9. Khir may be guilty for failing to turn up during the Balqis enquiry but is suspension the last resort? I am sure there are other options and alternatives available to the committee. Unless, of course, the committee decided to choose the harshest punishment available. You decide...If all else fails, the committee can always pass their findings to the police for further investigations. That can be done, isn't it?

10. On Khir's continual criticising Selcat, he maybe wrong. But then again, even Lim Kit Siang, Anwar Ibrahim continually criticise federal government through their blogs and yet they are not called to face the committee. So why double standard treatment for Khir Toyo?

11. PR harped about their justice and fairness. When things don't go PR's way, it is double standard so what do you call when PR do it to BN? Fair? Serves them right? Must it always be "they against us" attitude?

12. We can go on and on on this but suffice to say that this must stop now. PR or BN, I don't care, they should go for "people first, performance now". I rest my case.

In Selangor : Khalid I vs Khir T

I'm not perfect, I'm not an angel, but I try to live a certain way because it brings honour and respect. I tell people that when they look at me, they're looking at nothing but a big, overgrown, tough mama's boy. That's who I am. Mr T of the A team (TV series)

GE is almost 1 year ago but in the state of Selangor, both heavyweights are still going for each other's throat, literally speaking. No, it's not Mr T of the "A team" here but just plain Khir T full stop. Being one of the richest state in Malayia, Khir T sounded and acted like a sore loser, haunting Khalid's every move and lodging reports after reports to either the police or the MACC. Not that it is not OK but isn't it a waste of time and energy? Selangor needs to progress and readily armed to face the economic slowdown when the Human resource ministry has indicated that more than 50,000 workers are expected to be retrenched or layoff by the end of the year.

Before we go further on their toe to toe match, Wisma Putra has issued a statement denying that a malaysian diplomat's wife was involved in an accident in Johannesburg, South Africa. In fact, Wisma Putra confirmed that no Malaysian diplomat is married to one Reema Abraham. However, the 3 SA newspapers and the Johannesburg metropolitan police stood by their story. So, go figure which version do u want to accept. Or is Reema a domestic partner to one of Malaysian diplomats in SA?

Back to the main event, at one point of time, Khir T was happy when the newly minted MACC issue a statement implying that Khalid I misused his position. The statement came within few days after Khir T called for Eli to resign her Executive post supposedly on moral grounds. That, in a nutshell are 2 consecutive jabs to Khalid I.

Khalid I countered by first suing Khir T, followed by suspending 2 top PNSB officials on irregularities during Khir T's tenure as MB. Afterwhich, HRH Selangor ruler was said to be upset and unhappy over the invasion of Eli's privacy.

That said, maybe both Khalid I and Khir T needs to go for table talk and discuss their differences. It is acceptable if both were to lock horns during the state assembly sittings but to spill over into the daily lives is unbecoming. Khir T may be dreaming of doing a "Perak" to Khalid I but Khalid I may also be plotting to turn on more heat for Khir T. In the end "Menang jadi arang, kalah jadi abu" and the final winner might be "satay".

It is high time for Khir T to concentrate on his effort to be the UMNO youth leader and let Khalid I do his job as the legitimate MB of Selangor.
